MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | My unofficial prestige ranking of the last decade will roll out soon. Go ahead and make some bold predictions about where teams might fall if you'd like. Yours. The top three or five. Whatever. As always, I'll sprinkle a little of interesting trivia about teams along the way. Speaking of which, what do you think is the longest current consecutive Cup advance streak (meaning how many years of at least 1 advancement)? Don't cheat and look it up. Not even yours. I'm going to try to spot the longest streak as I finish up the calculations. If you want a refresher, here's a link to DOPE 4 that looked at 2031-2040. |

With my current in-game ranking of #91 and a couple of decent cup pushes in the last few years, I hope I'll show up on the list! Unfortunately, I know I'm not the longest consecutive cup advancement streak. I have made it out of 6 of my last 7 groups. |

MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | About a quarter of the way through my process, I realized it might be fun to recognize teams that have been here since Broken Bat started. Well, sort of. I'm talking about when BB started playing for real with owners. I was especially interested in finding owners that are quiet here in the forums. There were several that made DOPE 5. To honor Broken Bat and the ones I spotted, I'll include a "Name The Owner" statement. That means they've been here since the beginning! Kudos to them! You might want to check them out further or give them a shoutout. If I mention "overall," that means official site ranking. Any time I mention "advanced" or "rounds" I'm talking about The Cup. Speaking of which, what do you think the longest advancing Cup streak is? It's pretty impressive. I'll mention a few of the longest, as well as other random trivia that caught my eye. Finally, if a team is in level VI they weren't considered. Basically that's because I'm lazy. I didn't want to go through all of those teams to try to find the few that might have made the list. Anyway, here we go! 135 San Mateo. Cup runner-up '34. Also, 10th overall in '34. 134 Maple Grove 133 Waynesboro. Right off the bat we have a team that didn't receive any official prestige for the last ten seasons. They advanced 4 rounds twice. 132 Belleville 131 Terre Haute. Advanced all 10. 6 rounds last season. The highest percentage of DOPE earned by Cup play. 130 Wingrove Crossing 129 Bellington 128 Frankfort. 4+ rounds three times. 127 Ironbridge City. Here's our first been here since the beginning player. Name The Owner. 126 Bolingbrook 125 Plymouth 124 Augusta 123 Loveland 122 Grand Forks 121 Athens 120 Montgomery 119 Symrna. End of season rankings have gone from 383 to 261 to 179 to 112 to 51 to 24 with the last four progressively being the franchise's all-time best. Updated Friday, January 17 2020 @ 3:54:49 am PST |

Woot woot! Steve moving up a little. I like having The Man playing. 112 Bay City. No official prestige, but DOPE sees you! They finished 2nd three times. The lowest percentage and raw DOPE due to Cup play of any team that made the list. In other words, they could easily be higher. 111 Kahului. Finished 2nd five times! 110 Brockton 109 Louisville 108 Folsom. Name The Owner who has been here since the beginning. 107 West New York 106 Wilson. Yet another team without any official prestige. Advanced 8 out of 10 in the Cup. 105 Hood River 104 Davenport 103 Sedona 102 Pinellas Park. 2+ rounds in all 5 advances. 101 Mehlville Updated Friday, January 17 2020 @ 4:09:02 am PST |

MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | As we reach the top 50 and beyond, it’s time to give a little context to the ratings. If we give the #1 team a base score of 100, the last team to make DOPE 5 has a score of 28. The next 50 teams are all within 10 basis points of each other. Moving upward to where we stand now, coincidentally, #50 has 50% the DOPE of #1. In other words, almost all the teams listed so far would move up or down by changing any placement of any season of the last ten seasons. They’re that close. Let’s get closer to the top… 60 Apopka. 4-0 in playoffs. 7 rounder in ’40. 59 Richmond. Only advances were 3, 4 and 5 rounds. 58 Vineland 57 Farmington Hills. Perfect 4-0 in playoffs. 56 Grand Blanc 55 New London 54 Brookview Island. Name The Owner who has been here since the beginning. 53 Saratoga. Reached II for the first time in ’40. Name The Owner. 52 Yuma 51 Colorado Springs. In II for the first time. 50 Kirkland 49 Atlantic City. Despite all vices. 48 Oklahoma City 47 Palo Alto. First time in II. 46 Napa 45 Seattle 44 Scranton 43 Albany. 4-0 in playoffs. 42 Twin Falls. Advanced all 10. 41 Topeka. 19 consecutive advances! Highest DOPE for all teams currently in V. |

They were in II and III all 10 seasons, including 5 in a row where they finished 2nd or 3rd. Oddly, they finished three seasons in 68th or 69th overall. DOPE salutes you, Sioux City! 34 Davis. 3 round advances five times, plus a 6 rounder. 33 Cedar Rapids 32 New Britain. 22 consecutive seasons advancing in the Cup! 31 Burlington. 7 seasons in a row finishing 1st or 3rd in their division. 30 Dayton. Unlucky 0-4 in playoffs. Advanced 7 rounds in the Cup twice. 29 Columbus 28 Edmond. Highest DOPE for all current IV league teams. 27 Springfield 26 Moore 25 Corvallis. Reached II for the first time ever in ’39 and has been 2nd or 3rd all five seasons. 24 Harrisonburg. Making their Legends debut this season. 23 Laredo. Advanced 3 times, 3, 3 and 4 rounds. 22 Cheyenne. This is where there is a fairly consistent small separation, as opposed to the miniscule separation of the teams in the beginning of the DOPE list. It continues in a similar fashion all the way to the top five where there is an amazingly tight logjam. We're getting close. There's still time for predictions. 20 Waterloo 19 Allen. 5 division titles. 18 Boulder. Cup winners '41. 17 Broomfield. Change in ranking of more than 100 spots each of the last three seasons! 16 Los Angeles 15 Manhattan. The epitome of consistency. Last nine seasons in II and always 2nd thru 4th. '36 Cup winner. 14 Bronx. 6+ round advances three times. 13 Roanoke. 20 consecutive seasons advancing in the Cup! 12 Minneapolis. Cup winners in ’42. 11 Denver. They’re guaranteed to climb in DOPE 6. Wait for it. 8 Birmingham. Five 2nd place finishes and 1 division title, as well as being a Cup runner-up. An awesome example of what doesn't get nearly enough official prestige, while making serious DOPE. 7 Kalamazoo. Won Legends and the Cup in ’37 finishing with an insane rating of 440, the last time a team has finished a season over 400. Maybe we should call them Teddy Ballgame. 6 Alexandria. 19 consecutive advances with a five year run of 5, 3, 7, 7 and 5 rounds. Highest DOPE for all of current level III teams. |

MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | As we complete this DOPE list, I want to draw your attention to the current Legends league. Looking at the last ten seasons, here are the number of seasons the current teams have spent in Legends: 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Those are unprecedented low numbers and I think that’s awesome. In my opinion, it shows exactly how tough this game has become. There are many dedicated players, making each and every spot in the standings that much more difficult. Keep rocking this game. It’s getting better and better. And that leads us to the Top 5 for DOPE 5. 5 thru 2 are crazy close. It’s not quite splitting hairs, but they’re the closest group of four by far for any in the top 30. Let's do this. 5 College Station. 2 Legend titles and three second place finishes. They had the second highest league DOPE. For current Legend teams, they have more Legend seasons (7) from the last ten than anyone. They finished in the overall top five 6 seasons. 4 Novi. 24 consecutive seasons advancing in the Cup! The current longest streak (I think)!!! The super strange thing about that is their Cup DOPE actually hurts them compared to the top three. 8 Legend seasons and three consecutive Legend titles, they hit the highest DOPE for league play. 3 Margate. 7 Legend seasons. Advanced in the Cup all 10 seasons. Game record of 0-12 in Legend playoffs and Cup finals, a record I bet will never be broken. (It’s still alive, so it could be painfully increased.) 2 Bloomington. A crazy strong ’43 catapulted them to second in DOPE by winning II and the Cup. Another 7 rounder, plus 5 division titles and 5 seasons in Legends, the Thunder rumbled to this version’s runner-up. And so we have the number one DOPE team in the land, SANTA MONICA. They finished fifth overall in league DOPE, which included finishing second in Legends three out of five seasons. They blew by all league front-runners, though, with amazing Cup performances. They advanced all ten seasons and had runs of 6, 6 and 7 rounds, plus a runner-up, placing them first in Cup DOPE by a large margin. I guess it’s only fitting for the top DOPE of edition 2020 to be Optics. Congrats! Updated Thursday, January 23 2020 @ 1:08:34 am PST |
