Wow, apparently the round of offseason layoffs in the Norwalk organization has the scouting department in a bad mood.

Week one, you'd think there'd be a better slate of prospects than one where the "prize" is a 12 potential pitcher.

agreed got the same thing at 21 yrs old. Trashed him. Why can't my scouts find at least 70 si pitchers?

Got this guy - http://brokenbat.org/player/101222
11 pot but marked as "good potential", the others were all above average or worse. I needed an extra catcher in minors nonetheless so I guess I'll keep him for the time being.

Solid 13 pot Pitcher who should develop into a solid relief guy.

Got Spahn, nothing special but might make a decent middle reliever at least until something better comes along.

Went for college as I need players sooner rather than later. One guy had no scouting report at all! Two above average and two good. I went for a position of need as Kline is getting older...http://brokenbat.org/player/101231 yeesh. Maybe he'll be a bridge to Kline's replacement.

12 potential lefty pitcher... keeping him until I need to free a roster spot. My general bad luck seems to have carried over from last season.

Picked up Lester Lloyd.

75 SI/13 POT, but as an OF, it's stacked there. He might make the Catfish majors in a couple of seasons if he can boost a lot during his time in the minors.

Looks like nobody is really excited about their picks so far... me neither.
Three candidates had "good overall potential". One was a pitcher where the rest of the scouting didn't sound too good, so it came down to one pitcher and one position player. Picked the pitcher because I have few in my farm at the moment - and "unhittable" and "exceptional" are nice trigger words, too.
Sal Bradshaw http://brokenbat.org/player/101218 is 12p, could possibly become an acceptable lefty specialist but nothing more. Not exactly what I was hoping for with my first pick from the refilled draft pool. Originally, I was planning to take an international player, but this time around, that draft pool appears to be even smaller than last season (when it was only half as large as 2019). Quite a pity, really. International players add some color to the game.

Take a college player they say, so he can get to the line up sooner. So after waiting a near eternity for a draft pick to help my noob team we go college and find...
5 trash prospects, chose a good potential pitcher, he had 11 potential and 53 SI
You can find him on the waiver wire if you want him..lol..time to fire the scouts and save some cash!

Left handed outfielder, 13 pot, good speed and range. It could be worse. Plus, South Korean. Plus plus, "Ducky" Duck Young Park!

Angel Villarreal: only 18 with just 27 SI, but he's lefty and has a 13 potential, so we'll see. I was thinking of nicknaming him "Angel." lol

Asian Posting System: A 18 to 23 year old player from Asia. Note, the Posting System is a player transfer system between Asian and American professional baseball leagues.

It means i do without to any my players for signing a Asian player?

No, signing an asian player does not make you lose any of your other players.

Yeah, nothing to see here either. Don't think the player page was even finished loading before I hit "Release."

Very good potential was the only one I had so I took him over a pitcher that was just good.

Kinda weird how week 1 of the draft brings mid rounds talent. I guess that means more gems for next week.

Pretty happy with mine, I think possibly he'll end up more as 2B, but both my middle infield positions are getting on a bit, I'll take either!

I got 2 good players, one pitcher and one hitter.

Since i need more arms than bats, i picked Rafael McCullough.

12 potential but he's 17 and he has low fielding skills, so I'll keep him

Is it lame to feel good about Mike Landry here?
13 POT 3B, plus $***ty fielding, I see a All Star DH.

I've never seen a drafty who looked major league ready like Landry does. I'd still give him a little time in the minors to develop, but he could probably perform respectably already at LL-6. Low speed and low fielding should mean more points to his batting skills. The high range and Arm are a bit of a waste, but if he gains a couple more points in Fielding he could be passable as a backup 3B, with a primary role at DH.

Train Landry in OF. With his fielding you want him nowhere near the infield. With OF you might play him there, but obviously you probably don't want to. Your roster might make it so you have to.

As for my draft, I got nothing. Took the best of a bad group and he wasnot even worth a waiver claim for a rebuilding team with 30 guys on the roster.

I don't know where all the good prospects are supposed to come from. The highest potential I've ever gotten in a guy was a 12. I thought week 1 would be better.
