Colombia versus Nicaragua and Cuba versus Venezuela are also great match-up. Looks like three good Latin American teams will be eliminated in Round #1. Aruba, South Africa and Germany look to have pretty tough opponents to start...don't expect them to advance. Steve Updated Sunday, November 8 2015 @ 12:02:35 pm PST |

It's @ Russia, so there's a chance if the maple leafs forget vodka is a "bit" stronger than beer. If they stay somewhat sober and get a home series, there will be one heck of a caravan heading north from Fall River to see how our 2 best pitcher claims ever are used. Does "Moose" Baker get the closer role in his second go around with the national team? Will "Chief" Chapman make the cut for the rotation as a 24 year old? |

It seems to be the first real test for either team, and will eliminate another of the favorites. This Classic has been really good, there has been a match-up of two top teams in each round (Dominican Republic/Mexico in 1st, and Japan/Cuba in 2nd). At the same time there are still about 6 of 8 left that feel like they have a shot at winning it. |

Don't think stats are saved anywhere though other than keeping a running total through that particular classic as seen in the box scores. Now for my question: does having players in the world classic do anything for your attendance that season? Like fans really want to see national team players? I think it should give a small boost. I've noticed other sims with national team competitions do this. |

The same with Canada - USA, the Canadians just need another win, USA need to come back with three. Will both Daddy and Son return back from their historically rivals? Korea and Cuba, The Koreans are commanding their round against the caribbeans with two wins, the next one will decide if Korea are into the semis or Cuba are still breathing. The other serie is tie. |

You can view WC team statistics from the nation page by clicking on National Team Statistics. Or for individual players you can switch the statistics over to the World Classic with the statistics selector drop down box. Then you get some thing like this: Lee Klein World Classic Statistics. Much the same as how he plays for me, he plays mediocre baseball most of the time and then he takes it upon himself to win a game every now and again. The problem for me was he didn't do it in the playoffs. Edit: Just went through the box scores of Canada vs. US, I don't see how Canada isn't the favorite after that series. Dominican Republic looks really good, but Canada playing like they did against the United States is virtually unbeatable. Updated Wednesday, November 11 2015 @ 4:35:53 pm PST |

Despite not allowing a runner to reach scoring position for 5 2/3 innings and only having thrown 80 pitches, Chapman got yanked with a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the 7th for low stamina closer Baker. Moose gave up a one-out homer in the 7th, barely escaped the 8th by getting a ground ball with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs and then clearly fatigued, he got called back out for the 9th ... predictably he gave up a leadoff double was still left in to give up the tying homerun. Hopefully, "Default Manager" gets the hint from all the burning effigies hanging from the Braga bridge and realizes you don't call the closer until an 8th inning emergency at the earliest. PS. Team Canada is hoping for a least 1 home series next season. |
