Hillsboro Pikas
III.1

Broken Bat Baseball
As the 2055 Broken Bat season comes to a close and the playoffs begin, it is time to look back on the success and failures of the Hillsboro Pikas. I will be taking a look at the overall summary for Hillsboro, individual performances, potential cuts and a look into Hillsboro's future in its farm system.

Overall Summary
The 2055 season for Hillsboro can be summed up to an amazing performance by the starting rotation. Hillsboro pitching was unmatched with the leading the league in least runs allowed, least walks, most strikeouts, least home runs given up, the lowest ERA and FIP of the league and lastly the lowest WHIP in the league. To say Hillsboro dominated on the mound is an understatement. We will take a deeper dive into the pitching staff later when we look at individual performances. On the batting side of things Hillsboro wasn’t anything spectacular outside of leading the league in steals by 92. The team was good enough offensively but never truly stood out in the season. Even with a lackluster offensive performance the Hillsboro Pikas were able to finish with a 104-56 Win/Loss record and a promotion to LLIV.

Individual Performances and Potential cuts

The Position Players

Carl Matthews Position: Catcher Age:33 Salary:$3.5M
The aging superstar, Carl Matthews had another amazing year for Hillsboro. Matthews was able to put together a .309/.391/.484/.875 split, a very respectable and all league caliber season. Matthews was able to make an all star selection and will most likely see the veteran receiving a hefty contract following the team's promotion to LLIV, even with this Matthews will most definitely see himself starting for Hillsboro at the start of the 2056 season.

Willie West Position: First Base Age:33 Salary: $1.45M
An aging platoon hitter, West found himself with another respectable season. West finished with a .269/.346/.445/.791 split, nothing spectacular but fine for a platoon bat. WIllie only played 60 games for Hillsboro and with a salary hike and declining skills, 2055 may be Willie West's last season with Hillsboro.

Emiliano Martinez Position: First Base Age: 33 Salary: $1.40M
Another aging member of the hillsboro roster and the starting first baseman, Martinez was able to put together a respectable split of .263/.345/.369/.714 . Martinez's season is far from starter caliber but good enough for a team struggling to fill the first baseman slot. Like his platoon counterpart, Willie West, Martinez will most likely find himself departing from the team as the need to clear salary and remove aging players increases.

Bryan Watson Position: First Base/Left Field Age: 22 Salary: $0.50M
A young rookie, Watson had a respectable season coming off of the bench and replacing the underperforming Villalobos in left field. Watson was able to put up a .270/.326/.397/.723 split in 53 games. Watson finds himself in a good position with two aging first baseman most likely leaving the team, providing him with a starting job. There are concerns of Watson’s ability to play first base due to poor fielding performances. If Watson continues to develop he could very well become a solid bat for the Hillsboro roster, most likely taking a platoon or designated hitter spot.

Andres Cardona Position: Second Base Age: 28 Salary: $2.25M
The starting second baseman, Cardona, found himself having another solid season putting up a respectable split of .252/.356/.431/.787. Cardona finds himself in a solid position, where unless Hillsboro is able to pick up a proven batter in free agency, Cardona will most likely keep his starting role going into the 2056 season. Cardona provides excellent fielding and range at second base, being a 3x golden glove winner at the position. If not for his poor arm strength he would find himself in the starting shortstop position. If Cardona continues to bat consistently and provide good base running on top of great fielding he will find himself a mainstay in the Hillsboro roster.

Billy Dewey Position: Second Base/Outfield Age: 26 Salary: $1.10M
A long time Platoon hitter for Hillsboro, Dewey found himself having one of his better seasons, being rewarded with ample playing time. In 104 games played, Dewey was able to put up a .270/.322/.455/.777 split. Dewey found himself mostly playing in right field this season with minor stints at 2B and SS due to starter injuries. At the current moment, Dewey’s less than stellar defense keeps him from keeping a starting job but his reliable bat keeps him on the roster as one of the best Platoon/bench players.

Lorenzo Nava Position: Third Base/Catcher Age:25 Salary: $1.95M
Nava, the first pick of the rivalmejr era of Hillsboro, has found himself as a solid All-Star for the team. Nava received another all star selection putting up a great .298/.376/.476/.852 split. This split was boosted by a 56 steal season from Nava, continuing to show his dominance on the basepaths. At the moment Nava finds himself playing third base, an awkward fit for the offensive star. Nava will benefit most from the retirement of team superstar Carl Matthews, allowing Nava to play the catcher position and benefit from his arm strength, able to overshadow his poor fielding capabilities. Nava should continue to be a mainstay for Hillsboro as they attempt to find success in LLIV.

Corey Orr Position: Shortstop Age: 27 Salary: $2.35M
Orr finds himself underperforming in the 2055 season, putting up some of his worst offensive numbers of his career with a .234/.289/.445/.734 split. Orr was able to provide a stellar 54 steal season backed up by a passable .981 fielding percentage. Orr's ability to steal bases helps compensate for his lackluster bat and only passable defense due to his poor range at the shortstop position. Hillsboro is on the search for their next shortstop but at the time Orr finds himself in a safe position and will most likely stay around even if only as a platoon batter.

Colby Watanabe Position: Right Field Age: 34 Salary: $1.95M
The 2054 free agency signee, Watanabe was able to put up a great season for the aging 34 year old veteran. Watanabe was able to put together a .310/.350/.496/.846 split. Watanabe bat on top of his amazing fielding and strong arm allowed him to keep a starting role for Hillsboro at the end of his prime. The aging veteran finds himself in an odd spot, a high salary hike and declining skills may very well mean the end of his play in hillsboro.

Julian Valerio Position: Center Field/ DH Age: 31 Salary: $2.15M
Valerio put up another respectable batting season, putting together a split of .283/.319/.403/.722. Valerio was able to receive an all-star selection with this performance, his third selection in only his fifth year in the league. At the age of 31, Valerio finds himself as a mainstay for Hillsboro, continuing to prove why the former 2051 rookie of the year deserves a spot on a big league roster.

Brian Vaughan Position: Left Field/Center Field Age:28 Salary: $2.35M
The Canadian Assault, Vaughan finds himself putting together another stellar star performance putting up 30 home runs and 41 stolen bases. Along with this Vaughan’s split of .270/.373/.518/.891 is all star caliber. With another Canadian national team selection and stellar season, Vaughan continues to show why he deserves a spot on the Hillsboro roster. Vaughan's lackluster defensive capabilities make the designated hitter position being his most likely destination, although he may find himself in the outfield if Hillsboro is unable to find a defensive replacement for Vaughan in the outfield.

Carmelo Nunez Position: DH Age: 25 Salary: $0.50M
The second year player, Nunez found himself putting together a very solid sophomore season with a .309/.360/.485/.845 split in 91 games. Nunez found himself as a lefty hitting platoon player with lackluster defense but a cannon of an arm. Going forward the lefty youngster will most likely find himself fighting for the DH and outfield positions, most likely only winning if his bat continues to stay hot. The future is in question for the young bat, but Hillsboro is hopeful he can continue to play a pivotal role in their success.

Joaquin Villalobos Position: Outfield Age: 23 Salary: $0.50M
Villalobos found himself quickly benched in the 2055 season putting up the worst split of the season at .230/.275/.289/.563 in 50 games played. WIth a lackluster performance and a studded cast of young up and comers, Villalobos is running out of chances to stay on the Hillsboro roster. Unless no other fit is found, Villalobos last chance to prove himself will be in the 2056 spring training. If performances continue to be below par, Villalobos will find himself a young free agent and a third round bust.

The Pitchers

Theo Smiley Position: #2 Starter Age: 34 Salary: $2.75M
The Franchise, Control freak, Mr. Stamina, the strikeout king, Smiley finds himself with many names and many accolades. At the age of 34, Smiley continues to be a dominant force on the mound putting up a 17 win season with an ERA of 3.71 and a WHIP of 1.227. Although stellar, the 2055 season showed a clear decline in Smiley skillset as the aging veteran struggles to beat father time. Smiley will continue to play with Hillsboro but may find himself continuing to demote in the rotation as aging takes its toll and young guns continue to rise. Either way, Hillsboro is proud to have such a historic hall of famer on their roster.

Luis Ramos Position: Setup Man Age:32 Salary: $2.45M
A 32 year old veteran, Ramos was able to put together a 16 win season with an acceptable 4.16 ERA. Ramos salary and age bring forth questions of doubt in the Hillsboro clubhouse of a return next season but unless Hillsboro can find a replacement, he will most likely find another season or two with hillsboro.

Cory Mathewson Position: Closer Age:32 Salary: $2.50M
With another all-star selection, Mathewson continues to show why Hillsboro relies on him to close out games. With a 2.26 ERA and 34 save season, Mathewson played a critical role in the success of the 2055 Hillsboro Pikas. Mathewson's place on the team continues to remain safe with age unable to show its teeth up until this point, but Hillsboro continues to look towards the future as their star closer ages.

Duane Polk Position: #5 Starter Age: 31 Salary: $1.60M
Theo Smiley’s Shadow, Polk has remained a core piece to Hillsboro's rotation for 11 years. With a 9 win season and a 3.82 ERA, Polk continues to show why he deserves a spot on the roster. Only 31 years old, Polk most likely will find himself still on the roster but with alternate roles as youngsters continue to develop.

Marco Santana Position: #3 Starter Age:30 Salary: $2.20M
A consistent pitcher for Hillsboro but never a star, Marco Santana found himself with minor success with a starting role for Hillsboro. With an 11-11 record and a 3.31 ERA, Santana put up one of the best seasons of his career. Santana's performance continues to protect his place on the team even with his continuous changing of roles from middle reliever to starter.

Vince Rowe Position: Middle Reliever #2 Age:29 Salary: $1.20M
The former 2051 rookie of the year, Rowe found himself putting together another solid season winning 2 games with a 4.01 ERA. Rowe’s season was far from exciting but he continued to provide valuable innings from the bullpen, continuing to show that he deserves a spot on the roster.

Berry Spencer Position: Setup #2 Age:29 Salary: $1.10M
The 2055 Off Season signee, Spencer found himself providing valuable innings, winning 7 games and earning 7 saves this season with a less than stellar 4.78 ERA. Spencer season, on top of his age and salary, allow for Hillsboro to have a safe role player for the 2056 season. Spencer may not be a mainstay for the team but will hopefully continue to put up valuable innings.

Victor Rangel Position: Long Reliever Age:29 Salary: $1.55M
Victor Rangel’s 2055 performance was far from good, putting up a bleak 6.12 ERA, the worst of his career since his rookie season. Rangel's performance brings his future with the team in question, with the probability of free agency increasing as the 2056 off season nears.

Carlton Vascotto Position: Ace Age: 25 Salary: $1.50M
With an all-star selection and a record tying year, Vascotto put together an amazing season worthy of the 2055 Cy Young Award. Vascotto 2.98 ERA, 209 Strikeouts and record tying 22 win season was beyond phenomenal. 2055 showed flashes of a young Theo Smiley in Vascotto’s game, Hillsboro is hopeful that Vascotto will become the next franchise player for them.

Spencer Musial Position: Middle Reliever Age: 23 Salary: $0.50M
Musial's rookie season was less than spectacular with minimal innings, putting up an ERA of 5.96 and an abysmal 12 HR in only 48 innings pitched. Hillsboro is hopeful that Musial can become a solid bullpen pitcher but at the current moment the future is in question, with the team waiting to see what spring training and the 2056 season can show.

Booker Horton Position: #3 Starter Age:23 Salary: $0.85M
The 2055 season was a breakout season for Horton, putting up 15 wins with a 3.05 ERA. Horton's season showed that he can continue to be a member of Hillsboro rotation for years to come, showing why they picked him in the second round of 2049.

Brett Little Position: Long Reliever #2 Age:23 Salary: $0.50M
Brett Little's rookie year was similar to his fellow rookie Musial, a lackluster performance surrounded by an amazing pitching staff. Low innings, high ERA and Abysmal HR/9 leaves the Hillsboro Pikas concerned for the young junk ball thrower. Hillsboro is hoping that the lefty can continue to develop and become a solid piece to the bullpen.

The Present and Future, The Hillsboro Farm System: A dive into the young rising stars of Oregon.

Rookie League: Lavish Village Beavers

Sebastian Munoz Position: Pitcher Age:17 Skill Index: 42 Pot: 12
The 2055 first round pick, Munoz is a high velocity bullpen prospect. In the two years that Munoz competed in Latin ball he put up a poor ERA but decent FIP, followed by a concerning 0.87 HR/9. His homerun rate is teetering on concern, with an extremely high 2.068 WHIP. He put up similar numbers in his first year of rookie ball outside of a much improved 0 homeruns in 53 innings pitched. WHIP in rookie ball remains high at 1.962. At the current moment it is too difficult to determine if Munoz will remain a member of the roster, he will continue to develop as Hillsboro look forward to his future.

Bernardo Barajas Position: 2B/3B Age:19 Skill Index: 54 Pot: 12
A pick up in free agency in 2055, Benardo has had average numbers put up. In his two seasons of rookie ball he has put together a split of .275/.316/.363/.678. Concerning Hillsboro, the team is questioning his ability to contribute on the big league roster but see potential in his fielding capabilities. Barajas may not make it to a big league roster but has promising scouting reports.

Chet Lord Position: 2B/SS Age: 16 Skill Index:58 Pot: 12
The 2055 sixth round pick, Lord shows potential to be a high contact hitter and amazing defensive player. The young bat showed struggles in his first 31 games, making it too difficult to consider his rookie ball numbers. His one year of Latin ball showed promise, putting together a .318/.358/.388/.746 split. He struggled with fielding, making 17 errors with a .929 fielding percentage. As a sixth round pick the odds of Chet Lord making a big league roster are low, but with good development chet could find himself fighting for a platoon spot in Hillsboro.

Ramon Acosta Position: OF Age: 17 Skill Index: 68 Pot: 13
With the 2055 fifth round pick, Hillsboro drafted Acosta with hopes of a solid hitting lefty in the outfield. Acosta's first year in rookie ball wasn’t anything special, putting up a .260/.287/.311/.598. Acosta’s scouting report shows potential of a solid bat but his current performance shows struggles in the box, not good for a young gun in one of the most bloated positions in the league. Acosta’s high range and solid arm strength may allow him to find a starter role in hillsboro if his bat can develop.

Single A: Sumpter Ducks

Adrian Gutierrez Position: P Age: 18 Skill Index: 39 Pot: 13
With the second round selection of 2055, Hillsboro selected a young latin player with no scouting report. In his first season of single A, Gutierrez has put together an average 4.57 ERA with a high HR rate. His whip of 1.548 is much better than his rookie ball counterparts, but his lack of a scouting report and low skillset show a concerning future for Hillsboro. Gutierrez will most likely find himself not making a big league roster but like many players in Hillsboro history, surprise breakouts are never ruled out.

Tommie Duff Position: OF Age: 20 Skill Index: 59 Pot: 12
A 2054 free agency signing, Duff has continued to show good play throughout rookie and single A ball. Duff has put up a .317/.369/.450/.818 split, respectable and worthy of a future platoon role in Hillsboro roster as a righty hitting outfielder. Scouts are hopeful that Duff can be a very good hitter with above average power, his overall potential for Hillsboro looks good for the team.

Harold Grady Position: OF/3B Age: 19 Skill index: 81 Pot:11
With the 2053 third round selection, Hillsboro took a chance on a low potential player in Harold Grady. Even with low potential Grady has been able to put together good numbers at a .315/.364/.445/.809 split. Harolds respectable arm strength and good range shows promise for a solid platoon third baseman if his fielding and bat can develop to be on par with others in the big leagues.

Double A: Richland Flying Squirrels

Jeronimo Urbina Position: P Age: 22 Skill Index: 64 Pot: 11
The 2054 draft saw the arrival of Urbina, a strikeout pitcher with high velocity and low potential. In his first two years Urbina has put together an ERA of 4.51 and a FIP of 4.03. These stats were followed along with a 1.535 WHIP and 62.2 strike percentage. Urbina’s age and potential, with average statistics point towards a likely departure from Hillsboro in the future but who knows, Urbina could become a solid member of a future Hillsboro bullpen.

Cordell Agnew Position: P Age: 19 Skill Index: 49 Pot: 12
Due to being the 8th round pick of 2055, Agnew has been unable to show what he’s got for hillsboro in Double A. Looking at Agnew’s amatuer stats, he has an extremely high ERA but respectable FIP followed along with a low HR rate and high WHIP. Agnew limited play and questionable amatuer stats make it hard to determine his future at this time, scouts only see his lack of stamina to be anything of note, pointing towards the young gun not being a fit for Hillsboro.

Luis Olivarez Position: OF Age: 20 Skill index: 84 Pot: 14
The first exciting prospect, Olivarez is a combination of speed and power, putting up respectable but far from stellar .294/.341/.439/.780 splits with 100 steals in his minors tenure. With his speed and high range, Olivarez is a great fit for Hillsboro style of ball. If Olivarez bat can continue to develop he could be a mainstay starter for the Hillsboro Pikas in the future.

Drew Nakashima Position: OF Age: 19 Skill Index: 79 Pot: 13
Fast, strong ….. And one of the worst gloves in the Hillsboro farm system, Nakashima is far from an all-star caliber prospect. Drew's split of .271/.314/.433/.746 with a high steal percentage and solid HR hitting makes the future promising for Drew in the batters box. Sadly Nakashima inability to field relegates him to the outfield, making him a platoon hitter at best. Hillsboro is hopeful that Nakashima bat can continue to develop or he will most likely find himself cut from the roster.

Curt Myers Position: IF/OF Age: 19 Skill Index: 72 Pot: 13
Like many of Hillsboro's young prospects, Myers inability to field hinders his potential of making a big league roster. His splits have been respectable and his arm strength and solid range make Myers a decent looking prospect. If Myers fielding can increase he could be one of the best defensive replacements Hillsboro has ever had, if his fielding fails to develop Myers will most likely find himself cut and left to free agency.

Ramiro Acevedo Position: OF Age: 18 Skill Index: 70 Pot: 14
Raw potential is about all that can be said about Acevedo, a lefty hitter with a solid scouting report but poor showings in his first season of single A show the glimpses of a raw player with potential of greatness. Acevedo will never be a good defensive player, if his offense isn’t able to stand out it is unlikely he will ever truly reach his potential of being a big league hitter.

Triple A: Long Creek Beavers

David Giles Position: OF Age: 19 Skill Index: 82 Pot: 12
Giles is a raw first round pick with potential to be a big league hitter with no chance of being a big league defender, showing continuous struggles fielding the ball. His split of .293/.340/.426/.766 is respectable but far from impressive for a player with no defensive capabilities. It will take a breakout development for Giles to make it as a big leaguer in such a bloated position talent wise.

Ivan Gale Position: OF Age:20 Skill Index: 62 Pot: 11
Gale is a fourth round pick with low chances of making a big league roster, most likely a cut if any other promising hitters are found in free agency or the 2056 draft. Gale shows quick feet but lackluster defense skills relegating him to the outfield position, like many in the Hillsboro farm system. The team's desire for speed is outweighed by a need for defense to surround its star pitching staff, making Gale a poor fit for the big league roster.

Marcelo Nunez Position: 1B/OF Age: 21 Skill Index: 97 Pot:13
Fast and potential to be a gold glove worthy fielder, Nunez is an amazing defensive talent hindered by his left handedness. Nunez has been able to steal a plethora of bases and put together a respectable .299/.362/.431/.793 split. If Nunez can develop, he could be one of the best defensive OF and 1B in Hillsboro history. Hillsboro is hopeful that his bat can continue to develop.

Yoshio Ishigami Position: OF Age:22 Skill Index: 91 Pot: 12
The Japanese Prospect Ishigami, is one of the most talented young hitters in the Hillsboro farm system. Ishigami has put together a .308/.354/.452/.805 split in his minor league tenure. Ishigami cannon of an arm and good fielding potential but poor range make him an awkward fit in the outfield for Hillsboro. The Pikas are hoping that Ishigami can continue to develop his bat, as he is expected to make his big league debut in 2056.

Brent Huffman Position: OF Age: 23 Skill Index: 76 Pot:12
Huffman is a raw lefty talent with average batting capability and lackluster fielding skills. His age and the bloated farm system of outfielders make it unlikely that Huffman makes it to Hillsboro. His statistics in the minors have been respectable but nothing that stands out amongst his competition.

Stanley bentley Position: SS/ 2B Age:20 Skill Index: 83 Pot:12
Part of the 2054 search for a SS star, Bentley has been far from exciting. Bentley has struggled to do anything spectacular with his bat and has shown struggles on the defensive side of things. Making the probability of making the Hillsboro roster low, especially with his competition in triple A at the SS/2B position being high.

Doug Qiao Position: SS/3B/OF Age: 21 Skill Index: 92 Pot:15
Fast, a cannon of an arm and spectacular range followed along with a solid eye for the ball, Qiao has the skills to be a star defensive player. Hillsboro is hoping that his fielding can continue to improve, making him a spectacular SS prospect. Qiao bat has been less than stellar but his eye for the ball helps compensate for it. Hillsboro is hopeful that he can be a high OBP and high steal player on offense who provides stellar defensive play in the big leagues. At only 21 with extremely high potential, Qiao looks to be a promising prospect for Hillsboro.

Lorenzo Frias Position: OF/IF Age: 20 Skill Index: 73 Pot:12
A great fielder with poor range but a strong arm, the lefty hitter Frias is a promising prospect for Hillsboro with potential to be a great hitter. Frias offensive skill set looks poor on paper but in play Frias is able to put up a .323/.374/.413/.787 split. Lorenzo is slow and weak, a nasty combo for a contact hitter but Hillsboro is hopeful that he can continue to develop an eye in the box and increase his fielding range, allowing Frias to be a solid defensive option.

Stan Scott Position: C/OF Age:24 Skill Index: 92 Pot: 13
Scott is a consistent but average prospect with wheels and an arm. Scott's split of .290/.356/.402/.759 is good enough to give hope to Hillsboro that he can become a solid replacement for Carl Matthews as Hillsboro looks for their next Catcher. Scouts believe that Scott can develop above average power but will forever be hindered defensively due to his poor fielding.

Rickie Hale Position: P Age: 21 Skill Index: 64 Pot:12
A Chicago native, Hale shows a glimpse of being a solid junk ball pitcher, with one of the best curveballs in the Hillsboro farm system. His ERA of 4.13 and moderate HR rate lead Hillsboro to believe that he is a bullpen pitcher at best, unlikely to find a spot in the rotation.

Rhett Barr Position: P Age: 23 Skill Index: 103 Pot: 14
In 2049, Hillsboro selected Barr with their first round pick, a young high school pitcher with a nasty curveball that could make any batter’s knees buckle. Sadly for Barr and Hillsboro, his road to the show has been slow, spending six years in the minors with an extremely slow start. As time has progressed, Barr ERA has continued to drop and his HR rate continues to dip as well. Barr has had many glimpses of stardom and Hillsboro is hopeful that he can be a mainstay in the Hillsboro rotation.

Rudy Tamayo Position: P Age: 21 Skill Index: 80 Pot: 16
With extremely high potential and a deadly curveball, the Mexico native Tamayo looks to be a star caliber pitcher for Hillsboro. Tamayo shows signs of stardom with a solid FIP and acceptable HR rate and an extremely high K/9. His current skill set is low, leaving Hillsboro to believe that the young gun will need more time to develop before he can find himself in the Hillsboro rotation.

The Big takes of Hillsboro, a look at the overall future for each side of the ball.

Hillsboro’s Big League Offense

Hillsboro offense continues to show struggles and with an aging Matthews are in dire need of a slugging superstar. The team has many young role players in Watson and Nunez, with Nava showing continued glimpse of greatness. The team is continuously looking to improve with a likely dive into free agency this year to improve the Offense.

Hillsboro’s Pitching Staff

Hillsboro's starting rotation was the spotlight of the team, led by the young Vascotto and veteran Smiley. The rotation features young and aging stars, with a set of developing superstars down in triple A waiting for their callup. With struggles in the bullpen, Hillsboro will look to the off season this year to surround the starting rotation with solid support pitchers. The biggest question marks for the pitching staff are Smiley and Matthewson, both the cy young starter and all star closer are reaching a decline in their skill sets. Smiley's replacement in Vascotto has already been found but his role for the team is in question as his skills decline, a possible demotion in the rotation or even movement to long reliever could be imminent. Matthewson's replacement has been difficult to find for Hillsboro, as the closer position doesn’t receive enough innings for a young pitcher to develop and it is often a toss up if a young star showing in the rotation and bullpen will transition to the high stress and demanding position that is the closer.

Hillsboro Farm System

Hillsboro farm system is bloated in the OF position, with many solid but far from amazing bats followed by poor defensive showings. This bloat shows an even greater need for focus this off season to bring in solid infielders with a defensive minded playset. The main highlights for non-pitching players for Hillsboro are Yoshio Ishigami, Luis Olivarez and Doug Qiao. On the pitching side of the system Rhett Barr and Rudy Tamayo couldn’t put a better spotlight on Hillsboro’s pitching future, both show signs of becoming stars in the Hillsboro rotation, leaving rivalmejr with high hopes that Hillsboro pitching dominance can continue for years to come.

Quotes from other Owner’s in the League on Hillsboro

“Heavy focus on just getting guys on, no real emphasis on power, fast on the base paths, solid fielding, a bit low on range but trying for extra bags is risky, junkballs and control with starters who last for days… except for the fielding range, I dig the approach.” - AssumedPseudonym

Hillsboro Pikas

Broken Bat Baseball
A Season to Remember
With the 2055 Broken Bat Season coming to a close the Pikas found themselves atop of the V.2 Western Division with a dominant 104-56 Record. Hillsboro would fall to North Charleston in the V.2 Playoffs, who shut down Hillsboro's Offense. Even with a loss, Hillsboro leaves the field happy, with a promotion to IV.1 for the 2056 season.
