One quick data point to consider. Last year my LHS (set as a specialist), faced 54 lefties and 137 righties. The way substitutions work in the game, your LHS does face a LOT of righties.

I have a roster crunch with my hitters, thanks to the mega-update.

1B: Connelly starts against LHP, Trent is the nominal starter against RHP but when he's cold Hodge gets the nod. Yet Hodge is 31 and will likely cool off, and Anguiano is due up - he got the call at the end of last season. A bunch of my outfielders can also play 1b.

2B: Gaytan is the starter, good player who filled a long term problem for me and is still only 29. Applegate is his backup, an 8th round find. Problem is Suzuki and Jensen (who can both also play SS) are both due up. And Jacobs will be due up in a season or two.

3B: Ortiz is my superstar, he's going nowhere. Kennedy is his backup, who has also filled in admirably at C. But last season's waiver jackpot win Hampton is due up, and he's the best defender at third by some considerable distance.

On the face of it Hodge, Applegate and Kennedy all look like the choices at the respective positions, even though they're all good players. Also there's Miranda who was the first 14 POT I drafted but doesn't hit. I have one roster space as it stands so I could just demote them all to make room until I do find prospects elsewhere, but the young guys need to come up.

Thoughts?

To me 1B looks like Connelly and Trent have it wrapped up. I would ship Hodge -this also opens DH... See 3B below
At 2B Gaytan probably hold this down until a player with better range comes along.
Jensen looks like he could be a great off the bench speedster utility guy. He probably could still use some AAA time (despite mega-training update effects), I'd be tempted to train him at 3B for a bit in hopes of getting a 3b soon.
If Suzuki can get on base like he has in the minors he may be your middle infield answer.
Applegate seems expendable.
At 3B...I would really shake this up. Cut or bench role Kennedy (I don't like his defense), Start Hampton, move Ortiz to DH

Fair point, Rock. I have what feels like a million left-handed prospects. I'll only need about three of them in the end. Hoping to be able to collect enough of an impression of each to pare it down over the next two seasons. Building a solid bullpen has been my #1 goal over the past couple of seasons as the high POT starters I've assembled haven't been very effective above LL3.

Still have the same dilemma posted above. Can't bring myself to drop Applegate or Kennedy, though Hodge has gone. I picked up a couple of rookie 1B candidates who I probably shouldn't keep but still tempted by their report. And can't get playing time for Kolb or Anguiano.

Looking for more advice/opinions!

Cut loose Nuñez and Barry. It stung a little, but I had two promising youngsters that were due to come up. Nuñez already has 8 claims on him.

Would you remain patient with Gallardo and hope that HR/9 comes down? Or cut him?

Lostraven: He's struggling a little at AAA, but when he grows up his two pitches will get better. That last year at AA was promising. If you drop him, I might put in a claim to bolster my future 'Pen.

Lostraven I agree with grizzly, wait for his curveball to develop. With luck he won't gain anymore stamina and he should carve out a role in the bullpen.

That’s a lot of defensive SI for a 12 pot pitcher. Scouting report is great, but points will have to break just right... I probably wouldn’t keep him, but I get why some would.
