I've had so many cases of landing way below my pythagorean expectation (I remember being relegated after having the best run differential in the league for most of the season), but right now it looks like there actually might be a happy end to this season for the Isos. The obvious fix - if you keep losing close games, fire your closer, seems to have worked in this case. The decision is a bit easier if the closer has an 8.64 ERA... And my former lefty specialist has been rock solid since being promoted.
Arlington's spectacular slide certainly helped, so the tide may still turn quickly. Interesting times in the Eastern division late this season, for a change.

NIE MEHR... VIERTE LIGA, NIE MEHR, NIE MEHR...

My apologies, everyone. I just needed that.

Good fight, North Charleston, and I still don't comprehend what caused Arlington's total collapse in the second half of the season. Did I ever mention that I always sympathized with you, having had a bit of my past in the tiny little other Arlington in the Hudson Valley...

Veteran Hector "Fern" Fernandez might be having his best season yet. Yes, he is playing down in lvl IV now, but still pretty kool how fast he has gotten to 30 HR (after having 2 different 3 HR games today). He also reached 500 career HR putting him tied for 21st All-Time.

OK, so now Hector "Fern" Fernandez has reached 50 HR already this season and over 120 RBI. He is really climbing in the all=time stat leaders. It even looks like he is on track to get his 6th Gold Glove too.

Congrats to Hayseed and the Hood River Hawks on an excellent season. Good league we had this year, two of the final four cup teams and the cup champion. Looking forward to the challenge of Div III.1 again after a few seasons of not being there. Good luck to all in the off season and their prep for next season.

The playoffs weren't typical of the rivalry Hood River has had with Arlington, but at least we were on the winning side of the sweep and we will get plenty of chances to square off against each other next season (back to III.1).

Awards will be interesting.

Looks like the MVP will be between:

Cruz (.307/.364/.927, 35 hr)
Maclin (.314/.356/.954, 34 hr)
Carmona (.340/.417/.940, 57 2B)
Fern (.299/.372/1.063, 63 hr)

I think avg will win out like most years and Carmona will take home the hardware.

CY is likely between:

Hammonds (19 wins, 150k, 3.16 era)
Lemke (18 wins, just 33k in 166ip lol, 2.22 era)
Carrizales (16 wins, 117k, 3.68 era)

I think Hammonds might walk away with it over Lemke, but very close.
