Broken Bat Baseball
Alpharetta Vikings Top Prospects:

1:Callum Davis
At 19 with 14 potential and huge speed he looks like a future leadoff man with possible pop at any outfield spot or maybe a second baseman with great range.
2:Allen Bailey
Seen as ALpharetta's future SS, he is poised to get there. But not for awhile. At 19 with a 63 SI they expect big things from this player discarded at the end of the 2017 season.
3:Leonardo Sierra
Closest prospect to the majors, Sierra has only 13 potential, but at 82 SI already at 22 years old he could end up with two more productive years in the majors than some of the higher potential, but farther away, outfielders in the
vikings system. Alpharetta expects him up next season, but don't be surprised if he comes up this, as he did at the end of last year.
4:Larry Wells 69 SI, 23 years old. If he can have a big training year this year Alpharetta expects to see him in their everyday lineup in two years.
14 potential,
5: Greg Goodwin
The only pitcher in Alpharetta's top 5 is really only here because of the mostly mediocrity in the system beyond here. With Goodwin looks like he can develop with his 14 potential, his 58 SI at 21 means it will be an uphill battle. Alpharetta expects him to make the starting rotation, but not for four years.

Gastonia Cowboys Top 10 Prospects Part 2

6. http://brokenbat.org/player/83081
OF "Salty" Julio Segura
Potential: 14 Age: 21 SI:70
Though Segura is the final OF in the countdown he is still ultra talented could be the most dynamic player on the team at full potential. Segura entered the team as Wavier Clam at the age of 19 in 2017 and has been one of the most improved prospects since. He had excellent Spring Training notching 3 runs in only 7 ABs. He also showed signs versatility as he played various positions in the outfield and Infield He has continued his hot start by leading AA Gastonia in bating average, hits, and runs. A five tool talent "Salty" Julio Segura has very promising future.

7. http://brokenbat.org/player/88371/S
1B "Yogi" Fan
Potential:14 Age:24 SI:86
Yes I know he's an 86 and has the same potential as the other six players in front of him. He a pretty good spring training, so why Yogi so low. Well he's 24 and would need playing at a position in which we already have players 25,26 that are better than him. Which shouldn't affect him two much as he should be able hold his own against those guys as Gastonia expects for him to be called around midseason. The main reason he is low on the list is I'm not sure of how good he will become. The uncertainty lowers his ranking but lets not stray away from the fact that Yogi will become a elite 1B in the field as his glove is considered one of his major strengths.

Hm, I don't really believe in ranking prospects for different positions and at different stages of development, but here are some honorable mentions. For each group, two top prospects in development, one question mark, one pretty safe bet.
Pitchers:
http://brokenbat.org/player/92854 Grant Cox, age 22, SI 67, 14 potential, scouting: +fastball, ++curve, +stamina, ++overall. My latest draft pick out of college, straight to AA. Pretty sure he'll become a pillar of the rotation.
http://brokenbat.org/player/78004 Terry Lombardo, age 24, SI 95, 14 potential, scouting: +fastball, ++stamina, ++overall. Claimed him last season. His previous team had thrown him in the majors at 21, then fired him when he didn't perform... He is still worse than his SI indicates, but developing fast, now that I've put im back in AA and he can catch up with the training he had been missing. Quite the butterfingers on anything hit back to him and may never reach his potential, but should at least be a solid presence at the back of the rotation. With my short bullpen, there is always the temptation to call him up too early, though...
http://brokenbat.org/player/84271 Ariel Ramos, age 24, SI 64, 14 potential, scouting: +curveball, ++overall. Quite a gamble. Picked him up after a full season of unemplyoment, so he's way behind schedule, but if he ever gets close to his potential, I expect great things from him. Learning fast after making it to AA and had a great spring (8 6-out saves in 8 games, 0.51 ERA).
http://brokenbat.org/player/84914 Darren Brett, age 24, SI 85, 12 potential, scouting: ++fastball, +slider, -control, -stamina, +overall. My lowest SI potential prospect, but makes the list because I'm short on lefties, and his floor is pretty solid as a lefty specialist. I'm already playing him regularly, as he's already good enough for that job and doesn't have much potential to waste.
Position players (much harder to compare for me):
http://brokenbat.org/player/92438 Bob Dunlap, age 22, 83 SI, 14 potential, scouting: ++hitting, ++power, ++speed (20!), -fielding, ++overall. Recent college draft pick, now in AA, still far from his scouting reports in the hitting department, but nice early development. Should have a good future in the outfield, unless I eventually get tired of that horrible mustache... ;-)
http://brokenbat.org/player/89267 Oscar Segui, age 21, 82 SI, 14 potential, scouting: ++hitting, +power, ++speed, ++fielding, ++overall. College draftee from last season, developing slowly from an already high level. Would be a waste in the outfield - since I have other potential shortstops in the system, he'll probably end up at 2B, eventually.
http://brokenbat.org/player/83439 Thomas Nava, age 19, 64 SI, 14 potential, scouting: ++hitting, +power, ++overall. Latin draftee at age 16, developing slowly but nicely since then. One of two potential shortstops I have in A-Ball, provided his fielding develops. If not, his hitting should become good enough for the outfield.
http://brokenbat.org/player/81908 Max Hudson, age 24, 89 SI, 13 potential, scouting: ++hitting, ++power, ++speed, ++overall. The glove's not his friend, but give the man a bat, and he'll just tear it up. As a late call-up last season and in ST, his OPS was way over 900 already, but unless there is a longer injury, I'll let him mature in AAA as long as that's recommended.

He is finally ready!!! Only issue is who to take out of the starting rotation for Reynolds? Carter, Beard and Parker are my top 3 and would ideally be bumped down with Reynolds being #1. I want a lefty in the rotation however Fischer has been nothing but amazing considering his skill. So who to replace?

Not quite so spectacular, but I also have someone from my list who can no longer be called a prospect: Max Hudson has joined the big league team on a permanent basis as of today. Given his defensive limitations, he'll primarily be a platoon 1B for the moment, but I hope that still gives him enough experience for him to continue developing.

It's a good feeling though isn't it? I had my top pitching prospect get called up today. He's going to get all the innings he can handle for a while ;)

Very good feeling, especially since Hudson is the first home grown position player since I took over the team four seasons ago. I've developed three pitchers, who are now the backbone of my rotation, and there is one OF I claimed on the AAA level who made it into the team, but no NP from the farm yet.

(I won't talk about the current and past prospect of the team, only the newcomers)

Name: Caesar Alomar
Original Position: 2B
Bats: L
Throw: L
Age: 17
Birthplace: Puerto Rico

Ithaca Titans is in search of the best Latin-american players. That's the reason the investment in scouts is higher in that zone, and today they brought a nice addition to the club.

Caesar Alomar, who we think is relative of the MLB Hall Famer Roberto Alomar, also a 2B.

Early reports at the minor league installations said that Caesar has a good range and a good arm, also that he is fast. He only need to train his fielding, batting and other skills to became the future 2B of the team.
