My two position players closest to the majors both OPSd almost 1100 in over 60 at bats. http://brokenbat.org/player/81908 http://brokenbat.org/player/75662 Hudson is pretty useless on defense, but the kind of lumber he swings should be able to carry him as LF/DH. Alsonso's bat should make up for his lack of range and keep him at the hot corner. A pleasant surprise in ST was my highest potential (but seriously late developing) pitcher: http://brokenbat.org/player/84271 8 games, 8 saves, one run in 17.2 innings. 24 is really old for being relatively new to AA, but if he can make the transition to the majors towards the end of his age-25-season, he should have a good career, either as a front-line starter or closer, depending on how his stamina develops. |

Letting a left-hander catch who isn't trained at the position, has a mediocre arm and *beep*ty range in blocking balls will not do a whole lot to help a "terrible" pitching staff... I could see him at 1B or maybe RF (at least in my Yankee-Stadium-like ballpark layout), but certainly not at C. | ||

Steve does not include catching whenever he mentions spots that lefties get knocked down for playing (2,3, ss) and he has said that range has no effect on catching except for pop ups and bunts. |
