Is it like real life where that one or two pitches will get adjusted to on the second time through the line up? Edit: Some guys who only had one or two pitches were some of the best closers in history is what I'm getting at. Updated Monday, June 30 2014 @ 7:01:50 am PDT |

His value versus another pitcher with high velocity and two or three more pitches would be lower for sure in a head-to-head comparison. He'd be more likely to be cut, unless he is really performing well in a specific role like a closer. Then he would make the decision between them harder.

He just brought the question up in my mind for prospects that I may have to choose between in the future.

I have 3 of them, and McCarty is still going to stick around for a couple more seasons at the spot. Considering McCarty is 10 HRs off the all-time list and is still on pace to hit 39 this season with a career best OPS, catchers is a spot I have the opposite problem with. Pitching on the other hand...
