It's kind of ironic since in the first edition of this season we intentionally tanked and didn't make it out of the group stage. Now we have what I believe may be our first meaningful match-up with the all-time greatest franchise, Thunder Bay. Hopefully we'll have a healthy squad for that one.

I thought we had a comfortable lead going into the ninth for the second game, up 7-4, but things suddenly got interesting. They hit a dinger and then loaded the bases with one out. Back to back ground balls ended the nail-biter. Onwards.

On a different note, we happen to have two of my favorite team logos in all of Broken Bat. One logo must go! Again, good luck. |

If I was a craps shooter in Vegas, the table would have killed the casino for a while. I mean, c'mon, 11 control Chen going 7+ innings without walking anyone? He's averaged 4 walks per 9 for his career. And the bats were just on. Congrats on a nice run, though. Beep beep!

If we exclude the super early years when Central Empire Falls won back to back Cups, only one other team has won multiple Cups. Even stranger is the fact that they managed to win them in consecutive years, just like Terre Haute is trying to do. That was done by FMcgriff1b and his 2022 and 2023 Mount Vernon Cubs. Amazingly, no other owner has won two Cups. Good luck in making history, Bucfan. Hopefully we'll get a three game series to make things really interesting.

The Highlanders were eliminated in the aborted season, so it will be a "tainted" back-to-back! Still, it's pretty amazing to be playing for another Cup title this season. Good luck tonight. |

Ced Joined: 11/07/2014 Posts: 627 Denver Broncos IV.4 | Congratulations to our III.1 leaguemates, Terra Haute Highlanders on a well-deserved cup win...and repeat champions! Complete victory here and a sweep as well, two games to zero. Get out the broom. History made in Indiana today. Let's not forget Terre Haute had a group record of 19 wins, 1 loss. THH are different class, and Denver are all partying when we visit six days from now to view the cup at your ballpark. Absolutely fantastic. |
