Oopps sorry guys I missed this original V.6

All the best for the season - my pitching is pretty weak so might be taking a step into the basement again

Cheers and see you out at the park

This league is shaping up to be really competitive between us, Logan, and Milpitas. Good luck everyone!

Back in V.6, only posted here out of hope that Independence will be active. Playing so many rookies this year so I really have no idea what to expect. Some good moments so far. Olivarez hitting a HR in first three games, Whitson and Wright with strong hitting performances and HRs, and on the pitching side LaRue 3/3 on save appearances and Castillo pitching great in middle relief. I do expect the rookies to be streaky though. We are definitely one of the better teams in this league, so we could do anything from promote to finish middle of the pack. I have a feeling pitching won’t be so reliable this year. Best of luck to everyone!

That's the only post I've seen from my leagues.
We are back from VI again, trying to not be relegated this time, and the start of the season has been pretty decent. So far our offense had been subpar, but pitching overachieved, so I see correction coming soon.

We have an established roster with a few rookies trying to get some experience, but nothing more than that.

Good luck to all!

Our team is streaky, as predicted, but our offense has been impressive, and we are slugging incredibly high while leading the league in most offensive categories. Our pitching has been what has been holding us back. What has Independence at the top of the league is its outstanding pitching. Besides a bright spot in Solis, our pitching has been awful. I hope the young guys can just get some reps and improve, since this season is just about getting some training for the next generation before we gear up for another run at IV.

Only 7 games behind Independence, but only 3 games from demotion. This league has a very tight race between 2nd and fourth. We mostly just split our games lately over teams we needed to beat, but we haven’t lost any series so there isn’t any harm, I’m just not getting away from the demotion zone as I would like. We are doing what we do best right now, and that is slug and hope the pitchers don’t blow it. Whitson has been quite the surprise, putting up all league numbers in his first full season as an everyday. Estrella is as flashy as ever, and I’ve started comparing him to Elly De La Cruz. He is fast and has lots of pop, the amount of extra base hits he has is crazy. The only problem is that .230 average. On the pitching side, Castillo has been great in his first season as a starter, and LaRue has been shutdown as a closer. Vallejo has been my favorite surprise, this is his 4th team and he’s started cranking out ground balls like a machine. I’m hoping we can either go on a run and have Independence fully collapse like they did last year, but that’s not likely, so I’m content with a second place and a hope to promote next year.

The West is pretty bad this year, with top competition Dublin demoting and Independence promoting. The toughest team this year should be Kailua, who along with 3 other teams in the west don’t have a manager. Looks like it’s us and Bellington against the bots. I am really hoping for a promotion this year, and our team is definitely able to do so. I still have refused to sign older players because I won’t give them a roster spot over the young guys. We had almost no players regress this year with our crazy young roster so we will be bringing back a very young and hitter heavy squad. Good luck to all the humans here!

Entering interdivision play, this conference is shaping up to be an unpredictable ride. Us, Bellington, and Milpitas are tied for first with a measly 33-27 record. As expected, our hitting has been great and our pitching has been awful, but both at an even greater level than I expected. Our team batting average is .300! Our ERA is 4.85. Our #2 starter has a 7 ERA, and it’s just been miserable on the defensive side, including fielding, as we’ve blown numerous big leads. Not that I’m complaining about the hitting, we’re raking. I’d assumed we’d have the best hitting in the conference, but no! Bellington is also hitting .300 and has an OPS that is a couple points higher than ours (around .890). I wondered how they weren’t dominating the conference, then I scrolled down and quickly realized that they had a whopping 6.14 ERA! Clearly their president has never heard the phrase “defense wins championships”. Let’s hope we continue our hot streak after that terrible start, I really need a promotion this year.
