Apr 08 2065: Solis No-No! - by Fireballer34 on July 5th, 2024

In what was the first no-hitter of Fireballer34’s tenure as president, last night in the cup against crappy league VI Nanakuli, second year Raptor Pedro Solis threw a no hitter in only his 3rd career start. Solis has dominated to start this season, as his blazing hot fastball reaches 99 and leaves batters baffled. He threw 122 pitches and also recorded 7 strikeouts. He was prevented the perfect game as he walked three and hit a batter.

Mar 30 2065: Horacio Olivarez Torrid Start - by Fireballer34 on July 2nd, 2024

Rookie outfielder Horacio Olivarez made his presence known this opening weekend in the series against La Grande. In his first three major league games, he has hit a home run in all of them and is hitting .625. The Columbian was claimed off waivers with only 2 other teams contesting, and has been a key contributor since.

Jun 15 2064: Ruelas and Cook combine for 1 hitter! - by Fireballer34 on May 8th, 2024

Rodrigo Ruelas (5-4, 3.03 ERA) continued his string of dominant starts in the first game of interleague play yesterday, throwing 7 strong innings. But he carried a no-no into the 7th inning, before giving up a single with 2 outs. Walter Cook came in to relieve, and didn’t give up a hit in 2 innings, finishing the 1-hitter for a 3-0 victory. Maybe someday we’ll see a real no-no here!

May 09 2064: Double walk off! - by Fireballer34 on April 27th, 2024

Here’s what retired raptor and announcer Alejandro Silva had to say in this series vs. Overland Park.

“Sam Neil takes the mound to pitch. The game is still tied going into the bottom of the tenth. Neil has given up no hits in his 2 innings this game. The seasoned veteran Emilio Reyes steps up to lead of the inning. I’ve played with this man for more than 15 seasons, and let me tell you, he is a monster. He’s also a very clutch player, so I’d bet he does something here. And the pitch… It’s driven high and deep to right, holy cow! It’s way gone! Emilio Reyes has won it for Hollywood! That must have been 450!”

“Crisp steps up to the plate, he’s been real hot lately, but no hits yet in this game. The 2-0 pitch to Crisp. Swung on, Hammered! The left fielder turns, back, back, to the track, to the wall, he leaps up… And it’s gone! For the second night in a row, the Hollywood Velociraptors walk it off! An incredible moment for Lindsey Crisp. And the fans are ecstatic tonight!”

On a separate note, relief pitcher Rhett Lucas has been released. Many people were confused by this transaction, so the GM said this: “Yes, this cut was an impulsive one, but let’s all admit, we all hate that guy. He sells every single freaking game.” Many people murmured in agreement after this statement. It should be known that in Lucas’ career, he has recorded 37 saves and 21 blown saves. Not exactly the best ratio. The day of the cut, Lucas blew a potential save to complete a sweep of Overland Park, which pushed the GM to a “Breaking point”.
