I'm trying to get a player that only comes in for blowouts. Would I set it to -4/-8 or -8/-4. The "smallest" vs "largest" can get a bit confusing when dealing with two different aspects such as winning vs losing and negative/positive numbers. | ||

You can set up a pitcher to come in for games in which you are getting blown out, or games in which you are blowing out the other team, but not both. -4 / -8: This would mean that you would need to be losing by at least 8 runs, but at most 4 runs. So this setting will result in the pitcher never coming in. -8 / -4: This would mean you need to be losing by at least 4 runs, but at most 8 runs. So they will come in for many blow out situations. But you would probably be better off with -inf / -4 (as that would just mean losing by at least 4 runs). 4 / inf: would mean that you have to be winning by at least 4 runs. -3 / 3: would mean that you are losing by at most 3 or winning by at most 3 (so closer games). I always find this confusing, and I may have the first two swapped - so someone please correct me if this is wrong. |
