Pitching potentially less so but I think my BAA is ok and it's likely on the defensive side that's letting me down - 38 errors.... I've consciously sacrificed defensive skills to get better hitters so am pretty relaxed about most of them, but I'm wondering whether the ship has sailed for my mismanaged 2B? He's 26, but only 1.6 at 2B which given his comments is likely the reason for his 12 errors... https://brokenbat.org/player/299528 I'm not capable of promoting so it's not a big deal this season but am I wasting my time trying to get him up to speed at 2B? Should I just face facts and use him as a DH? |

But I wouldn't read too much into it - it is a small sample size and Hart is a good player, 26 is still young and he's developing nicely. I'd keep running him out there at 2B until he gets the full eligibility. My issues with Hart are that 12 Range is low for 2B, ideally you want 15+, and he's an extreme groundball hitter so he's not going to hit for much power. But you don't have anyone better, so I'd keep playing him at 2B and hope he maybe pops another point of Range. |

His low 1B position experience will be compensated for by his high Fielding. But you probably have a better bat over there.

Annie Oakley Joined: 10/14/2023 Posts: 60 Independence Cavaliers III.2 ![]() | Thanks guys - I do have a better (but older) bat at 1B and a younger developing guy too, but my issue with Hart at 1B is that he's right-handed - is that not as much of a big deal as I think?

You can see his past performance at 1B. Pretty solid. I regularly use a righty 1B platoon versus lefty pitching. Croft has played a lot of 1B for me. He has 10 Fielding. Nelson is also a righty 1B with fielding more comparable to your guy. Updated Wednesday, December 6 2023 @ 3:50:45 pm PST |
