There are a multitude of options for next season, not sure I am excited about any of them at that position for primary lineups.

Option 1:

https://brokenbat.org/player/197892

He is likely to decline in the field again at 34, and wasnt supposed to play 2B as much as he did this season (103 games).

Option 2:

https://brokenbat.org/player/294901

Was supposed to take over the job at some point, still has 11 fielding, coudnt hit crap this season but does have the Range for it.

Option 3:

Barely proficient at the position, big arm is wasted, and has problems of his own at the plate.

There are a number of other options that hit right-handed:

#1 Field First:

Hit reasonably well against RHP, but doubt that can last a full season.

#2 Hit First

https://brokenbat.org/player/269534

Both these guys can hit primary pitching, are position skilled, but 11-12 fielding and wont rise.

#3 Unproven

Cant really get on base but can certainly steal if he does. A better fielding option of all but Burnett.

Thoughts?

I would probably wait and see with Nakajima, If he keeps his skills, go with him. Otherwise, I think Shanks is the choice.

Yep. I was thinking the exact same thing.

Or risk it with one of the bat first guys, but they will no doubt hurt you in the field.

I actually like your Field First guy better than options 2 & 3. Burnett looks like a mini version of Shanks. Much better fielder, but not as good a hitter.

Option 2 would be a cut for me given his super low BC.

I see you can't give up on Shanks, either. :)

Option 3 every spring trading game - see what flip does to option 1

If op 3 plays well and op 1 loses several points then start season with 3 and see how she goes?

All the best Jim
