I have a couple of questions about new draft pool.

When the new pool will be available? next friday or next year?

I am not familiar with US scholar system, which kind of player will be in the pool? it's more like college (20-22 yrs with 2-3 years before majors) or high school (17-18 with 5-6 years before majors)?

There is a brief description of the draft options in the "Players" section of the game manual ; see "Signing New Players" http://brokenbat.org/rules#players

Junior/community colleges have two-year programs instead of the four-year programs typical at a university, so ages may be more like 19 - 21 instead of 20 - 22.

Yeah, from a academic standpoint, junior/community colleges are 2-year associated degrees and then students can generally transfer to 4-year universities and get a bachelor (regular) degree.

In baseball, you can spend one or two years there and then either transfers or get drafted and go into the minor leagues/major league farm system.

Roger Clemens for example started out at San Jacinto College before transferring to UT. After going to high school in the states, Albert Pujols went to Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods for a year before being drafted by the Cardinals.

Steve, he linked it there to the baseball program page. At least I assume that is why that link is there.

Do they have JUCO (junior/community college) baseball programs in Canada?

What are the options for young ball players in Canada? There are a few college programs in Canada, some come to the states...not sure about JCs though.

I see there are college like George Brown College which has a baseball program, but I'm not sure at what level the athletic program is and also if that's consider a community college or what.

Yep, that's the one. I didn't want to brag and make anybody jealous :P

I believe there are junior colleges in Canada, but I have no idea how their system works compared to ours or if they even offer athletics.

Edit: just found this page. Says it's "a comprehensive list of community and technical/vocational colleges in Canada." Of course, it's from 1998 so...maybe not as comprehensive as it claims :)

I've seen someone who went to my undergrad on here, but he didn't fit my roster. Perhaps I should be more sentimental.

Link. I didn't play though.

I go to university in Canada. Here it's kind of similar to the states where people typically go to University for a 4 year program and college for some sort of 2 year program. For all intended purposes that is the same as the US College/JUCO model. The colleges also have their own sports leagues up here

So does your university have a baseball team with scholarship players? Is that usual in Canada?

In Canadian universities there are less scholarships and usually they are based more around academics. From what I know of the American system it is more like the Ivy League where the league is competitive but there aren't really any athletic scholarships.

There are athletic scholarships for community colleges. The one I went to had them anyway.

Was the question ever answered as to when this pool would be added to the game?
