Press Releases:

Apr 03 2030: Ken Moody inducted into Hall of Fame - by Giants4008 on December 22nd, 2016

2B Ken Moody has been inducted into the Cubs' Hall of Fame today, after he was waived due to his skills declining. His stats may never have jumped off the page, but his solid defence and mature veteran presence make him a worthy member of the Hall of Fame. Moody has retired and will spend time with the Cubs as their minor league defence instructor.

On being asked about his retirement, Moody said, "I was drafted as a Cub, and I spent 19 years in the organization. My dream has always been to spend my entire career as a Cub, and I will retire as one."

The organization thanks Ken Moody for his contributions to the Fayetteville Cubs.

Mar 25 2030: Cubs ready for the Season! - by Giants4008 on December 19th, 2016

With a new owner, the Fayetteville Cubs hope to turn around their fortunes this season.

After the change in ownership, the team now looks significantly different, with free agents being brought in to bolster both the starting lineup and the rotation. The team also bid farewell to several veterans.

New manager Eric Singleton said about the team in a press conference, "I will certainly do my best to lead the Cubs to promotion, but it will be difficult this season. The Deerfield Beach Rats, for one, will be tough to beat. They've achieved 2nd place 9 years in a row: surely the new ownership will help them gain promotion. Nonetheless, I hope to achieve promotion within a few years when our prospects get called up."

The owner had this to say: "We believe that Eric Singleton is the right man for the job. This may be his first year as a manager, but he has served as assistant manager for several years. We hope he can bring the Fayetteville Cubs into a new era."

The Cubs will begin their season with a three-game series away, facing the Deerfield Beach Rats. Their first home game will be on April 9th in the Cup, facing the Belleville Leprechauns. Their first home game in the League will be on April 11th, against the Largo Phoenix.
