He played for an incredible 18 years, all of which were spent with the Pirates. He remained productive late into his career, winning his last all star award at age 36, and finally retiring after age 38. He holds numerous records for the Pirates franchise, including 360 home runs, 563 stolen bases, 11 all star appearances, and 4 MVP's. His all star and MVP streaks remarkably peaked at 9 and 4 years, respectively.
He finished his career after playing 2250 games in which he took 8434 at bats with 1334 runs, 2395 hits, 1417 RBI's, and a .284 batting average.
He had single season highs of 37 home runs, 76 stolen bases, and a .333 batting average.

Notes: Came to Montebello from an AAA affiliate and a team that didn't value how good he really was. Made his debut at 27 years old and never quite stopped producing at a high level until he was 35 years old. In 8 full seasons, he averaged 31.8 home runs and 101.4 rbis per season, outstanding numbers that helped Montebello reach League III for the first time in more than 20 seasons.
The perfect definition of a late bloomer, an amazing switch hitter and a homerun player. |

Games 711, W 31, L 71, S 545, ERA 3.21, BAA .221, WHIP 1.255, IP 1036⅓, K 485 |
Notes: The first true closer Montebello's ever had. A 7-time All-Star across four different divisions (3-6) and a 3-time All-League.
545 Saves converted and a 3.21 ERA (That was under 3.00 for all his carrer until his last two years) that helped Montebello win their respective leagues 6 times and reach division 3 for the first time in more than 20 seasons.
He endured rebuilds and all out seasons and came on top, every time. A first rounder that lived to the hype. |
