I am in the process of cost cutting and rebuilding. I have a pitcher that has been coached up over the last couple of seasons and has just broken into the Majors squad.

He is cheap, wage wise, this season being a new to the squad. Only he continues to get better and is now awesome, I fear that he will hike his wage demands next season and there is no way I will be able to keep him.

Do players that have been with the club for a longer time have slightly lower wage demands through loyalty or will his wages go up the same as any other player of his caliber?

Yes, length of service with a club does factor into the wage calculation. However, its mostly based on production from previous years and level of competition.
