Also please look at the pitching options on who to keep out of 4 rookie's??? I changed my starting rotation and left 4 unassigned to rest for playoffs. All 4 rookie's are starting their 1st game tonight in a 4 game series. Then I will be cutting or keeping them based on your opinions.,. Thanks for letting me know... | ||

Green has a big + with Pitching, but on the dev side Iglesias is better. Especially since I value Player Dev and Fielding Dev over Pitching Dev (they develop so fast anyhow). I'd probably keep Iglesias, but its really a toss up. Green has the higher total skill count. In terms of the pitching prospects. Underwood - I don't really like him. Marginal Velocity and Movement. 1.910 WHIP in the minors. Gatlin - Might be something there. He has been getting better with the HRs allowed. Always nervous when guys rely solely on Velocity, but his Fastball might be enough to carry him through. Especially in the correct bullpen spot. Colón - Limited upside. A POT 11 who might already be done growing. If he blows past his scouting report he might be decent, but it seems unlikely. George - Looks like the best of the bunch. He does give up a lot of HRs, so he might struggle a bit with the low walls in Colorado. Lack of Movement and low GB/FB aren't helping him, but he looks like a legitimate prospect. He has a nice WHIP in the minors as well. |

On the flip side, Green is 48. So if you want to keep him, you will need to promote him before he turns 50. You still have one more season to put of the decision (and look for your next pitching coach). My instinct would be to keep Iglesias until you find a good replacement at Pitching Coach. Then pull the trigger. Its not an issue if you change Managers halfway through the season. Keep Green for the long term. Whoever you give up is going to make a nice Manager for another team! All 4 starting pitching reached 19 wins in Norm Green 1st season as coach. They are top 4 league wins! Hope for my 1st cy young award in teams history with Russ Hasagawa. But Brad Blank from San Bernardino is more likely to getting it. |
