I just need to be sure I understand this correctly. Thanks!

I would highly recommend against doing that unless a guy faced less than 2 or 3 batters in the majors that week. Because major league experience costs a lot more than minor league training. EDIT: Also, he will only collect minor league stats (which have no impact on development) for the days he is on the minor league roster. If you demoted him to the minors after Thursday's minor league games are played, he would collect no minor league stats. Updated Tuesday, July 30 2024 @ 7:59:16 pm PDT |

The reason I asked is because these guys I have in the majors have all flatlined a little early, and they're under 27yo, and they only had 2 seasons of triple AAA training. So I thought I might give them a little more time in the minors just to make sure there's no training points left to be had. But I need my pitchers to still start in the majors for the week because I literally dont have any one else. But it looks by what you wrote, if I want to see if any training points are left then I need to leave them in the minors for an entire week or more, and not to try what I was hoping to try. I don't care about the experience because i think ive already maxed those out. Just trying to figure out how to get minor league training while still starting in majors for most of the week. Thanks for the info.

Here is the kicker though, players still get Training in the majors. And supposedly they get the best Training at the appropriate level. I don't think you will really gain much from putting them down to AAA unless they aren't getting any playing time. If they are playing, keep them up. They will still get training. Also keep in mind, due to fuzziness (both in scouted POT as well as shown Ratings), it is fairly common for players to not reach the POT listed on their page. I wouldn't stress too much about that. Those guys may well pop a couple more points slowly in the future, or they may already be at their max. Either way, they probably don't have much to gain from Training, unless they were promoted through the system super fast (like less than 1 year at each level). Two years in AAA is plenty of time. I doubt they have anymore to gain from time in AAA. Updated Thursday, August 1 2024 @ 7:14:17 am PDT |

I must stress, I'm pretty darn sure there's no more skill value growth left to be found in the majors with these guys. So they either flat lined a little early, which as you mentioned happens quite often, or I thought maybe I may have moved them a little early out of minors. Its probably the former. You mentioned I would have received training in majors too, which only adds to the argument that they just flat lined early. But, man do I HATE that. Lo! |
