Was surprised that Israel beat Taiwan. Not sure if the Israeli players were actually all from Israel or just linked somehow to the country (Americans whose grandparent was from there kind of thing). Do people play much baseball in Israel?? I think the game was in Seoul, Korea....but the ballpark was just empty. Steve |

According to Wikipedia, Sam Fuld was born in New Hampshire. I seem to recall Anthony Rizzo playing for Team Italy in a previous WBC, so I think that's fairly common. |

Over the weekend, the games were at Petco Park in San Diego. I was at the SD Zoo with the kids on Sunday and there were a lot of folks with WBC gear on. I think they were getting good attendance at the games. I'm not sure it's getting much TV viewership though. Steve |

There seems like a lot of push back from the MLB clubs....I don't know what the future of the World Baseball Classic is. Steve |
