The caveat being that it must be within the spirit of the game and not contain any names or images that would be objectionable. Please note, there is a manual approval process, so changes wouldn't take affect immediately. The changes will take affect when the mascot name and logo image is approved. Again this was just implemented, so if you encounter any errors, please let me know. Thanks, Steve |

Holmes Joined: 11/07/2013 Posts: 1175 Inactive | Sorry for submitting my design twice. I was expecting some kind of confirmation the first time... Great idea. The custom logos make everything more colorful and more individual. And I'll finally be able to tell my forum post from slug's at first sight. I'm not a particular friend of Bohr-model electron trajectories in nuclear tech logos because they bring wrong physics into popular culture and have nothing to do with actual nuclear processes. I've decided to stick with them, anyway: They're easily recognizable, and you can put baseballs on them... (Yes, I have the wrong number of baseballs on them, too, but with six, it looked overloaded.) Updated Tuesday, July 5 2016 @ 4:41:26 am PDT |

So just something like Bears or Bruins or whatever you want the mascot to be. And then upload the associated image. I though most people we come up with unique mascots...but most people are just using their currently mascot and uploading a new image. Steve |

I'm going to mull over the idea of moving the team to Michigan until next offseason. I'm guessing I stick with Norwalk in the end. Just goes to show how good this game is that some of the intangible things become so important over time.

Also, there's been quite a lot of raccoons in my life recently, as I've just finished translating Dan Abnett's Guardians of the Galaxy book about Rocket Raccoon and Groot so... no. Still waiting on my new logo's approval though. |

I thought more people would come up with unique mascots (ones not on the regular list) and logos to match. From example, you could re-mascot your team the Trolls and come up with a matching logo. Similarly, San Francisco went from the SF Eagle to the SF Golden Eagles. Steve |

Slug5373 Joined: 12/23/2014 Posts: 376 Inactive | I think as time goes on we will see a transition to more unique mascots. People get tired of things and want to change after so long. But, as I mentioned before, it's mirror a team tradition thing. Heck, the only reason i moved from Naperville to Hampton was because I live like 20 minutes from there. Still, even after playing just one season at the time, it wasn't a decision I made in a heartbeat. Naperville had been this team's home for a while. I think that is what other teams are struggling with.

When I started I did change towns and took the closest town I could find (luckily, I was assigned an eastern club). Then named my park after the only other thing I could think of from Bloomington (besides IU). Hence, John Mellencamp Field, home of the "Cougars". Our clubs are our identifiers. You can look through the standings and know who certain owners are. I do wonder, if you were assigned a team on your side of the country, did you move it closer to your town or keep the town you were assigned? It would be neat to allow customizable(?) town names. But then the east/west thing comes into play. I would like to see JJNZ's club named after some wilderness New Zealand outpost, or Frank choose some quaint Italian villa. |

It's easier, just ask Steve to add a town in the USA that has the same name as the town you want to be based in. That's what I did with Warsaw Steve did it in less than a day. |

EDIT: I don't think I'd like customizable place names though. Having to kind of adopt your city is one of the unique things about this game and it anchors things in reality in a nice way. Holmes Joined: 11/07/2013 Posts: 1175 Inactive | Wow, some great logos showing up here. Haselrig's artwork makes my little piece of dilettantism look downright shabby... I've been thinking about a mascot change, but everything just fits too well. I'm originally a nuclear physicist, and I love the nerdy part of the Simpson's humor (I can recommend Simon Singh's book on math humor in the series). I've actually been known to use Mr Burns as my avatar in forums. Works with the city as an allusion to the Manhattan Project, as well. And finally, the team has gone by that name since I picked up the Manhattan Mustangs in League 6 in the 2015 season. So, the Isos are here to stay. The only thing that has bothered me for a long time was the very generic logo, and that's been fixed, too. The one thing I'm still mulling over is a different name for the ballpark. For the moment, I'm using Isotope Stadium following the logic of that other team in pinstripes over in real baseball... |

Haselrig Joined: 04/13/2014 Posts: 2812 Novi Doubledays IV.8 | My stuff is as much luck as skill, Holmes. I have to find the right graphics to work with, so most of the credit goes to the original artists. All I really bring to the table is a certain eye for styles I like. Nobody should get down on themselves for the logos they make. I started doing graphics on the computer for another online game I played four or five years before I found Broken Bat. Anything I've seen on here would put the stuff I made when I started to shame. Graphics is a skill like any other skill. The more you work at it, the better you'll become. I still struggle with making text look good, even though I've been working to get better there for a while now. |

I accidently found out about the custom Stadium & Team Name / Mascots yesterday... I have had a love affair with my City Name since joining Broken Bat. But my mascot has changed a few times. In keeping with the El Dorado Concept (As I did with my minor league teams). I would like to change my mascot to "Pay Dirt". I have been attempting to combine a couple of pictures to make a mascot picture. I was wondering if anyone out there might be interested giving me a hand in making a picture. Charley |

Posting here first because I was looking forward to create a new logo to the team I am currently GM & Managing but unfortunately it seems like it will take a full year for that to be an option. I'm sure there's a good reason for it, albeit I cannot think of one especially when images have to be approved by Admin(s). It just seem excessive, like a penalty to new users/reward to veteran users. Anyways, just wanted to say "hi" and share those thoughts. PS: Nice logos |
