Feb 19 2059: The final countdown! - by CandiedPark1915 on March 17th, 2023

There's no word that can describe how happy we are with the upcoming season 2059 which starts on March 1st!
Kona Forest Park and our coaching crew are ready for the first pitch, so bring your friends and family and enjoy the game!
We are honoured to thank our legends for many years of playing for Pandas:

37 year old Bill Stanley has decided to end his professional career and now, after 15 years and 2130 games on his account, the #3 draftee from 2041 will train the youngest prospects in our organization. "The things changed", said Bill, "and I made my decision. I have two wonderful kids and I want to spend more time with them and my wife. I would like to thank my playmates and coach Saenz for the last years together. I hope I didn't ever let y'all down, including our fans. Thank you very, very much!" We wish our HoF all the best in his life.

After the season 2058 our starter #1 Albert Lyons was included into the Hall of Fame. He spent his whole career playing for Kona, from the season 2044 when he was the #1 draftee. With 444 games played and 13 years of experience Lyons is one of the 20 pitchers who has played the most games for us with 99 wins and 1855 innings. Albert is very thankful for all years in Kona.

You will never see Pedro Jasso on the field. Our shortstop and true leader with 1755 games and 3.13 batting average after 13 years of playing has joint the HoF and will stay in our hearts forever. But we are glad to announce that Pedro will join the stadium speakers crew and we will hear his voice again.

The last brave man who left our team recently is Javier Godinez. The outfielder has finished 1929 games with white-and-black shirt, and he has played 1116 times as a center fielder. Javier has won the Golden Glove award three times, in the seasons 2051-2053. Javier said, "it's very sad to leaving Pandas. Here is my home and family. I'm turning 36 now and it's time for the young boys to give them a chance. Coach Saenz was like father to me, and I will attend all games in the upcoming season. I hope my kids will be part of the Kona family in the future. Thank y'all for your support!"

New players was picked up from AAA:
- Larry Merritt (#23, LR),
- Joe "Bullet" Keough (#33, RHS),
- Tory Kirby (#8, LF),
- Rob Keefer (#15, LF/1B),
- Dennis Willey (#30, 3B),
- Francisco QuinoƱes (#27, OF/1B - a Costa Rica national team member).
We wish our future stars all the best and we hope they give our fans lot of fun!
Our hitting coach Tony DeLeon was replaced with 36 year old Jim Gregory. Thank you for your job, coach Tony!

Commentators also noticed that Gary Daniels has the most games played (1623) of all active players in our roster. The 34 year old veteran is relatively close to reach the record set by Todd Ward, who left our team in 2034 (2264 games).

We can't wait for the first pitch of the new coming season 2059!

Jul 07 2049: Difficult times - by CandiedPark1915 on March 15th, 2021

As many as 5 injuries in the team make the path to any positive result this season much more difficult.
There are short-term injuries like 1-2 days of catchers Greene and Driscoll, but we have also more serious injuries, like Grimes (OF, 9 days) or Warren (SP, 14 days).
We wish our stars a quick recovery, because the fans and the team need them!

Jan 15 2049: Grimes on a roll - by CandiedPark1915 on January 29th, 2021

Kona's Hall of Famer Shawn Grimes has just finished one of his best seasons in his entire life. With an .304 batting average and .524 slugging percentage in 152 games, "Sunny" is one of the greatest names of all players in Kona's history. 'Next season we're going to fight and reach higher level', he said, and our fans believe it - or just say so. One thing is certain - if Grimes maintains this form, he can wait for promotion to the 5th league - and Pandas jerseys with his name on will continue to sell best.
