Mar 28 2042: Hold Your Horses Regression! - by Samson_knight on August 27th, 2019

Coming off a loss in the playoff championships last season to Kappa, management feared regression for our rookie ace pitcher "Pasta Hands" Andrea Vitale. A 23-5 junior season for the 26-year-old international phenom had many critics saying he was going to take a step back this season. In his 1st start of the season, he goes almost 7 innings strong with 7K's with 1 run allowed.

In contrast to Vitale, team Captain Alvaro Lopez, at age 32, who was most notably picked to regress. Nonetheless, it was our season opener that he showed us that regression is a myth. Down 3-1 into the bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, and reigning MVP Alvaro Lopez steps to the plate. You know what happens next... Two seasons ago he slashed .338/.426/.585 (OPS 1.011) losing the MVP race to the USA SS Rep from the Muncie Flyers, Devon Strickland. Last season Lopez did not stop posting a .334/.427/.573 (OPS 1.000) slash line winning the MVP honors.

New Manager, Same Team, Same Goals, to win the championship and promote! Only 2 games into the season, but with the team on his back look for Alvaro to earn another MVP award shouldering this teams offense. The Defense will be backed by the trio Yama (2B)-Uchi (SS)-Gami (3B) and many deep threats off the bench.

Cheers to 2042!

P.S. - Let's not forget about Ace Andrew Morin and his back to back 20 win seasons

Nov 04 2037: What an End to the Season! - by Samson_knight on October 5th, 2018

Congrats to the Round Rock Yankees! What an incredible playoffs series that turned out to be! One out, One strike away from victory, young pitcher Andrew Morin sauced up a meatball in the Top of the 9th that cost Elyria the series. He would not comment anything to the media after the game... Manager Chase Bianchi quoted, "It's tough... That's as close as it gets.... and we just fell short"

Following his return to the team, Veteran Jack Ruth thanked his teammates for an incredible run to game 7 and is unsure if he will return for another year as a 36 year old, "It's a great game, I regret retiring early and overjoyed that ownership wanted to bring me back, I want to keep going... but its not up to me to make that decision," he said to reporters early Friday morning.

Apr 25 2037: Jack Ruth Back From Retirement - by Samson_knight on August 15th, 2018

With a start to the season that the new Elyria Eagles were not hoping for, they re-signed Hall of Famer Jack Ruth to let him 'play until he can play no longer' in his last year eligible to sign as a FA, a 35yr old. New Manager Chase Bianchi would rather play his young stars, but feels that "bringing back a piece of the old core will spark a winning streak or something" he commented this morning. Lets Go Eagles!
