Apr 21 2051: Perfect Game in Cup Play - by northpaw on July 27th, 2021

Over the weekend, Llamas received yet another distinguished award from Broken Bat as he threw a PERFECT GAME with seven strikeouts and perfection! After the game when interviewed he humbly responded: "It was a team effort! Really! I had eight other guys on the field who had my back. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible"

With this 9-0 win against Lewiston, just serve up another spectacular career for this young man...who is only 26 by the way! Congratz!!

Sep 22 2034: Rookie Knepper appears to not be Koi Savior - by northpaw on December 10th, 2017

When GJ management was asked to respond to Stockton's press release suggesting waiving Knepper as a teenager was somehow 'harsh', the GM responded: "Well, they have their opinion over there (in last place) and we have ours! Knepper was a nice kid and always full of potential as a teen; however, since our sweep back earlier in the year it seems that he is a disappointing 6-9 in the win-loss category. Has over a 1.5 whip and over 4.0 era. We have a much higher standard for our starters here and feel our decisions are just fine, thank you very much! You can quote me on that sonny!!" This reporter can't disagree.

Feb 19 2034: Spring Training- A Time for Owner To Reflect - by northpaw on October 13th, 2017

With Spring Training starting today for the 2034 season, and Nick Northpaw's 4th season of ownership, I sat down with him and asked him to reflect on his views, successes, failures, and assessments:

Reporter: So Nick, tell me what has gone good?
NN: Well, we have made adjustments that improved our winning pct to averaging over 600%. I'm very happy about that. We have also secured our future with very good draft picks that have talent, hard workers, and team culture.
Reporter: What has not gone so well?
NN: We needed 110 wins in 2032 to win our division making it very difficult to break through with such a strong league. And last year we ended only 4 games above 500%. We did not expect an off year last year and expect to compete better this year.
Reporter: Good luck to you Nick...and we'll be watching!

Aug 04 2031: Clubhouse is demolished to motivate... - by northpaw on April 11th, 2017

First year coach (Foghorn Fortner) has decided to use yet another motivational tool for his team after finding a 'party-like' atmosphere immediately after a recent loss. First hand accounts report that Foghorn entered the clubhouse and began shouting and yelling at his players while swinging a bat demolishing everything in its path: Gatorade container, boom box, and beer bottles strewn everywhere. "From this day on..." he was reported to have said, "...if there is anything other than determination for a win seen by me after a loss, this bat hits you!"

Jun 27 2027: Under New Management - by northpaw on May 20th, 2016

"New Management Has Arrived" was the cry at the News Conference held today introducing Nick Northpaw, Owner and new GM trying to get the Grand Junction Gators to move in a more positive direction. With subpar expectations in the past, Northpaw seems to require nothing but improvement in all areas of this ball club! Time will tell whether the West Division has anything to worry about...
