The Pearl City Pioneers picked up "Rowdy" Steven Rea today. Rea, a 25 year old shortstop, was a great find in the eyes of many Pearl City fans. He began his career with the Souhfield Crusaders, and then moved to the North Little Rock Raptors and the Vista Eagles before coming to Pearl City, where he is today.

Julian Torres did an interview with TV host Fred Klutenheimer, which led to Torres asking Klutenhiemer to pitch to him. Klutenheimer did, and beaned him in the chin. Torres shook it off and sat down. Manager "Mudcat" Cesar Reyna, who had come along for the ride, commented by saying "The man has a STONE chin."
