Despite this assumption, the State College Bears are second-to-last in the East. Fans can only hope that Lates can find a way to somehow salvage a promotion in the midst of one of the greatest performances by a league all-around in the history of Broken Bat.

The State College Bears’ new owner, Buka Lates, earned his first win in a 6-3 victory over Fort Lauderdale. New draftee Rafael Vance made a shocking appearance as well, despite only being drafted yesterday. He made good use of his debut, collecting his first career save after putting in 3 solid innings of work, allowing no runs on no hits and 2 walks.
