Palm Desert Officially takes the lead at the end of a series, as they have bounced up to first place a few times in the middle of the series. This is a direct result of the shake up after the new ownership because they went from 4th and down 14 games to First Place after two months under new leadership and it ended with them in the lead for the first time all season. The magic number is 7 and they are only half a game ahead, so can they hold it and win the division?

After the team was bought out by TheAtom117 the team moved down a bunch of players and hired several new free agents to fill up the lineup and pitching rotation, fans and critics were wondering if the team would be able to still pull out victories with this shake up, but July 30th the first game under new ownership Mike Mueller pitched a 15-3 victory over the Troy Crusaders.
