Jun 15 2065: Wildcats 8-5 Victory; Heaton Leads the Way - by mbrown26 on July 24th, 2024

Early on in the game the Wildcats got to work. After a thorough hit and run that moved some runners Arnie Robinson hit a two run RBI double, Carrizales and Heaton scored runners on to make the score 4-0. Bob Friend paved the way with an excellent performance going 6.1 innings allowing 4 hits and only 2 earned runs striking out 4. Friend lowered his ERA to 4.95 the best among Wildcats starters. Heaton capped off the night with a 2 run homer scoring Carrizales who earlier scored Carney on an RBI double. Carrizales and Heaton have been one of the most exciting one two punches in the entire league. Raul Hernandez ran into some trouble in the 9th allowing 3 in the 9th with a bases clearing RBI double from Lee Fay the former Rookie of the Year catcher. Dion Branch had to come and get the save his 13th on the season. Wildcats will look to put together another victory in this 5 game mega series.

Jun 15 2065: Wildcats Fall to Plymouth; Defensive Errors Cost Them - by mbrown26 on July 24th, 2024

The Westland Wildcats lost a tough one to Plymouth. The Wildcats jumped ahead 1-0 thanks to an error that allowed Carrizales to score, then doubled their lead from a Derrick Carney RBI single. Plymouth took advantage of two errors by Carrizales and Heaton. Giving the Pilgrims 2 outs and some baserunners a double from Rowley scored two and Nicolas Bailey hit his 5th home run making it 4-2. Sefo got the loss giving up 5 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Only 1 of those 5 runs were earned which is unfortunate for Sefo given he only has one win this whole league season. Westland scored 2 more because of Bruce’s and Jolly’s two RBI doubles. Juan Carlos Virgil allowed an inherited runner to score making the score 5-4. Mark Neely in 6.1 innings allowed 3 runs 2 earned on the day giving up 12 hits. “We really wanted to win today it’s a shame we couldn’t pull it out. It’s a slump, every team goes through one, we will be alright” said owner and GM Mason Brown.

Jun 15 2065: Westland Pulls Out A Win; Better Days Ahead? - by mbrown26 on July 24th, 2024

Ah yes, finally a Westland Wildcats victory. The fans have been craving this ever since the team fell out of first place 3 days ago. It was a strong 9-2 win, and a good pitching performance led the way. Garrett Butts went in and ate up 7 innings of the game. He let up a mesmerizing 12 hits but that’s okay because he was brilliant at stranding runners, stranding 10 just today. He struck out 7 hitters and only allowed 2 runs, courtesy of a De La Cruz RBI single and a Monty Paris solo roundtripper. The offense showed out once again today. They blew up for a 7 run 5th inning that left the game out of reach for the Eagles. Earlier Arnie Robinson in his first two at bats hit two RBI doubles bettering his average to .322. Robinson doesn’t have the qualified at bats but he’s done particularly as one of the younger players on this team. The team batted around in the 7 run 5th inning. Jolly, Bailey, McKenzie, Bruce and Fujikawa each got RBIs and two errors led to the damage. Tyrone Grant gave up 7 runs in 4 innings, which was odd because Grant has been pitching particularly well with a mid 3s ERA. They have a series with an interleague battle with the Pilgrims.

Jun 15 2065: Wildcats Lose Again; The Losing Streaka Continues - by mbrown26 on July 23rd, 2024

The Wildcats took the loss 8-3 to the up and coming Fresno Eagles. Fresno has been having a lot of success after being in the relegation zone to start off the season. D’Angelo Gatlin struggled again only going 2 innings allowing 5 earned runs. The star of the show was De La Fuente going 3-4 with a run and 2 RBIs. Schuster struggled only going two allowing 3 runs. Continuing on the offense was pretty quiet only scoring 3 runs off of 12 hits. Their star of the show was 4-4 scoring 2 runs. The pitching was exceptional from Fresno today as well. Caesar Rivera went for 6.1 innings giving up 9 hits in the process. The Eagles will try to sweep the Wildcats tomorrow.

Jun 14 2065: Wildcats Go Down In Extras; Fresno Continues Dominance of Westland - by mbrown26 on July 23rd, 2024

Ok yeah the Wildcats are in a tough spot dropping yet another game. The woes, are in the pitching but however the bats aren’t great until that strong bottom of the 9th rally in which the Cats scored 4 runs in 9th to force extras. Early on Friend struggled pitching 3.2 innings and allowing 4 runs. Monty Paris launched himself a two run home run to open up the Eagles scoring. In the fourth for Friend after a couple of hits allowed Siegl was called into the game. Siegl did not much better allowing 3 in his next 4 innings. He was taken out when Zelaya launched a 2 run homer in the 8th. Miguel Zelaya won POTG after a 3-5 2 run, 3 rbi, and home run line. The Wildcats were down 7-3 after Heaton provided his team 2 rbi singles, and a run. In the 9th with two runners on with a an out Carrizales smacked a three run home run putting his team 1 run shy of the Eagles. Heaton hit a single and after a stolen and a fielders choice he was on 3rd with two outs. McKenzie on the last out hit an RBI double to tie it up. The game went into extras where in Ocampo allowed a run after a passed ball and timely hitting from Ravasio. Ocampo took the loss after the Wildcats couldn’t answer back. “It stinks because these guys are working hard and we just need to figure out a formula that works for us “said manager Cameron Jordan.
