Jul 02 2051: A legend goes a legend comes? - by atomic on August 15th, 2021

Today, after intensive discussions with the board Andre "Maple" Gagnon, #1 pick in the draft of '31 decided to end his terrific career. In his 20 years with the Rebels, "Maple" broke most of Rebel's hitting records and has been chosen to the All Star and All League teams multiple of times. He also won Golden Glove honours 6 times. A complete player, a pure legend.

His spot on the team will be taken by Domingo "Lil' Eric" Estrada, #1 draft pick of '47. "Lil' Eric" was lighting up the minors with an average of .367, OPS of 1.043 in AAA this year (career minor AVE .330 & OPS .900). Can you believe that it's far better than how "Maple" did in the minors! Just an example: Lil' Eric had 400 RBI in 596 games, while Maple had only 203 RBI in 606 Games.

Rebel's board hopes that "Lil' Eric" will be able to adapt to the majors in no time and that he will help the team to avoid demotion this season. It's so damn close this year and every hit will count, that's for sure.
