Mar 04 2036: Back to back complete games! - by HoboMan6525 on May 13th, 2018

This past series in spring training was marked with a landside victory for Cedar Hill over San Diego. The Bombers scored 19 runs in game 2 with Mauro Delgado on the mound for the full 9 innings. During that time he let up only 3 runs. The next day Chris Rowen led the bombers to victory on the mmound in a 10-0 victory. He let up only 2 hits and pitched again for the full 9 innings. Its still too early to tell but things seem to be looking up for the Bombers pitching staff after a few poor years in the pitching department. More news on the Bombers spring season to come shortly

Jul 27 2034: Bombers failing pitching staff! - by HoboMan6525 on November 25th, 2017

Cedar Hill has been experimenting with different pitching combinations all season, leaving many to wonder when this experimental phase will end and some are even questioning Manager Sonny McCormicks abilities as the manager of the bombers and his plan with this failing pitching staff.
"They just cant get results," said McCormick in a meeting with the press this weekend. "Weve got a few pitchers who are actually trying their best but a few is not enough to support the team." McCormick went on to make specific remarks at starters Hanson,Stevenson, and Thomas. "Stevenson is for some reason the highest paid pitcher on the team and recently his performance hasnt been enough to support his pay." This leads many to believe that Stevenson may be let go after the season,or if the bombers fall too far behind, before the end of this season. As of now the Bombers have settled with a 4 man rotation of Locke(No suprise there),Rowen (Former middle reliever whos made an outstanding starter), Stevenson(maintaining a 7-7 record and hovering around a 4.5 era), and Thomas (Surprisingly picking up 2 consecutive wins and is looking like hes pulling himself back together). As for bombers bullpen Carlson is looking strong in his closer role now with 21 saves. Beaumont has been the oonly reason the Bombers have stayed afloat this season. Whitten is not performing as his usual self. Hes not getting his usual playing time either many are wondering if it could be a pitching coaches problem. For now the Bombers are looking for Locke,Rowen,Beaumont, and carlson to keep them afloat but theyre going to need the rest of the staff to step up of they have any hopes of being dominant this season.

Mar 20 2034: Regular Season start Press conference - by HoboMan6525 on October 23rd, 2017

The Regular Season is set to begin after the upcoming cup games with Cedar Hill set to host a 4 game series with Camarillo Armadillos. The Bomb Shelter will not only host this series but also the last 2 games from a cup series with inter-league rival from the east division, Gastonia. We sat down with Bombers manager Sonny McCormick before the flight to Gastonia to talk about the improvements that Cedar Hill made over spring training. McCormick was very pleased with an expanded recruiting program that Cedar Hill opened this season. Despite still running a primarily American/Dominican Major league program, the bombers drafted new players from different corners of the world this season. Cedar Hill recruited Second Baseman Nicolas Garcia from Venezuela, Abdul Siddiqui from Pakistan, and young rookie catcher Markus Weschler. With the addition of the new recruitment program McCormick had this to say on Spring Training.
"If you only look at wins and losses then this was our worst spring season but as ive got to know this club ive began to focus on Cedar Hills future . We had some young guys in there getting their feet wet. We were very surprised by many of our younger players performances. We were very surprised with Jake Justice, a young AAA pitcher, he started 6 games for us. He won 6. He ended out spring with 30 strikeouts, 1 shutout, a .60 ERA, and a major league promotion." Despite justice starting in spring hes been assigned the Middle reliever 2 position as a back-up to Bombers pitching star Gabrielle Whitten. Called up with him was new left handed set-up man, Loyd Frazier. Young German Catcher Markus Weschler, and former AAA shortstop Braydon Trotter, All of whom are expected to playing minor back-up roles on the team for a few seasons until some of the older stars fade out.

Feb 19 2034: season opening press conference - by HoboMan6525 on October 12th, 2017

Cedar Hill manager Sonny McCormick spoke to the press today, one day before spring training begins. He began his talk with plans of expanding the Cedar Hill recruitment field to include more foreign programs. Cedar Hill has a long history of having rosters primarily containing Americans,Dominicans, and Japanese players. With opening topics like this McCormick could be hinting at more foreign players coming into the Cedar Hill ball club. McCormick then went on to announce the induction of both former closer Loyd Sexton and Former Manager John Roach to the Cedar Hill of Fame. McCormick had this to say on the loss of Sexton before the 2034 season.
"Hes been such a token of the team. It seems like more and more of these iconic players that were here when i first took over the team from Roach are starting to finish their last season. Especially in our pitching staff. Now that Sexton is gone and Yoo left last year it seems like all those great are slowly fading out of the club."
With the retirement of Loyd Sexton many are left to wonder who will take over the closer position for Cedar Hill. Most eyes are focused on Zachary Carlson or Justin Beaumont. After the latters performance last year Hes probably out of the question. Leaving Carlson with the role. Mccormick continued to talk about the strong Cedar Hill offense and Defense. Which was no surprise since that is something Cedar hill earns the right to brag about every season. Sadly for Cedar Hill he made no comments on the Bombers pitching which was also no suprise. Lastly McCormick had this to say about the west division competition this season. "Cedar Hill expects and is ready for a fierce competition for the top spot in west division. Last season there were 4 teams all within 5 games of the top spot so i expect a similar competition this season." After the conference Cedar Hill players congratulated McCormick on making it 5 years with the club. In those 5 years Mccormick has led Cedar Hill to two consecutive league titles. Were looking forward to watching the Bombers for McCormicks 6th year.

Mar 25 2029: Opening Day press conference. - by HoboMan6525 on October 4th, 2016

New Cedar Hill manager ,sonny McCormick , made an opening day press conference today before the game began. The following?is a direct quote from his speech. "First off id like to take a moment to thank you all for coming down for opening day of the 2029 season! Next... id like to thank the great city of Portland for hosting us all these years. You've been great and we couldn't have done it without your loyalty. Sadly the move had to be made but i think it will work out better for all of us as the season continues. Now i think we can move on into business. So, first off i would like to say that i don't plan on being the same manager that Roach was. I don't think i could be if i wanted to he was truly one of a kind but i do hope to make this team the best that it can be. Now with that out of the way id like to put some rumors to rest. As a few of you may know The diamond stars are breaking up. For those of you that don't know, the diamond stars are a group of 4 players who were team mvps, captains and were fan favorite and rightly so. So, sadly...yes both Julio nava and Al Norman will be leaving the team this year both will be carrying the others plaque to the Cedar Hill Hill of Fame after the game today where we will have their induction ceremonies. Julio Nava will throw the first pitch and Al Norman will be helping announce during todays game. Now next up id like to move on to our spring training wrap up. We finished strong, we tested a new pitching rotation, new fielding combos, and welcomed new players. We signed several free agents who we believe will only make us stronger. Young AAA player Gabriel Whitten got a chance at the big league's and i can say that he made a good impression because hell be pitching in the majors this season. I think our pitching is the best its ever been, our defense solid, and our offense will be just as good. I think we will go far this year and be just as competitive. I think we couldve won last year had it not been for Iowa City who Seemed to stump us at every turn. I can tell you now , that will not happen again and that this year, if you, our fans, believe it, we will win the league! Thank you and enjoy the game!"
