Oct 24 2032: 2032 Season - by Huaraches25 on July 17th, 2017

This ends the 2032 Regular Season for you Hagerstown Blazers. We really did nothing more than survive this season going from 2nd last year to 4th place this year (with just 5 fewer wins) Outside of Martin Duenas, nobody gave a full season of strong pitching. The batting average was there for many, but it came with very little run production when it mattered. There weresome surprises, but many players we were relying on simply underperformed, on both sides of the ball. Now we must prepare for another difficult offseason of trying to find free agents and waiver claims while developing our farm system.

Congratulations to All-Stars Kurt Giles and Ron Evans and ROY Favorite (in my book) Clayton West. A special congratulations to Kurt for hitting his 200th home run this season and being inducted to the team hall of fame and fellow veteran Ron Evans. We hope to see them both back next year performing at a high level.

The Team MVPs for Pitching and Hitting are Martin Duenas and Clayton West; respectively. Despite Giles' mark of 300/534/853 with 29 HRs and 98 RBIs in 547 at bats, we feel it was slightly edged out by Wests' 332/580/955 with 26 HRs in 524 at bats. Wests performance was good for top 5 in Batting Average, Slugging Average and OPS. As well as 8th in HRs and 9th in RBIs (110). We hope that they both receive All-Pro honors in addition to a Rookie of the Year award for West in the upcoming awards ceremony.

Duenas for Pitching is a much easier choice as he finished top 10 in Strike Outs(144), ERA(3.41) and WHIP (1.191), in addition to falling on win short of 10th on the list (Duenas finished 15-8 with 16 quality starts)

We hope to contend for promotion next season but know it will take a lot of work to get over the hump but we believe we have the firepower to start and are putting forth the best effort to find the peices to fill our holes to get there.

May 25 2032: Kurt Legend hits 200th HR - by Huaraches25 on June 7th, 2017

Kurt Giles has hit his 200th Home Run and we have chosen to congratulate hos acheivement by inducting him to the team hall of fame. He has meant so much to this team since new management took over and was a crucial part of our championship a few seasons ago and while his future with this team seems uncertain after this season we felt it was a fitting time to honor him like this.

May 03 2032: Temporary Name Change - by Huaraches25 on June 1st, 2017

Hagerstown Blazers are temporarily the Rockets while we wait to have a new logo approved.

May 14 2030: Skinner Throws No Hitter - by Huaraches25 on January 2nd, 2017

Edgar Skinner has no hit Elkhart with 4 walks in our 1-0 victory. This is an amazing acheivement and some much needed encouragement for a Blazers team that has struggled with their pitching this season.

Nov 01 2029: Champions - by Huaraches25 on November 30th, 2016

The Hagerstown Blazers have just won the VI.21 championship over the Santa Clemente Friars. Hagerstown was heavily regarded as an underdog with regular season record 20 games behind the Friars of the West but our bats powered us to a 4-1 series win. The MVP of the series was 1B/DH Ron Evans, who batted .533 and hit 4 home runs and 8 RBIs. We won't stop however remembering after winning the East in LL.6 two years ago and being relegated after one season, and moving forward we will try our hardest to avoid relegation and keep climbing the ladders!
