Jan 22 2035: First Non-Losing Season in 16 Years!
- by supermanager1 on December 26th, 2017
On October 23rd, 2034, the South San Francisco Giants capped off their first non-losing season since 2018. Owner and GM supermanager1 congratulated manager Ben Haas and the player. Ben has stated that "this season is the beginning of the Giants' dominance over the game of baseball". However, South San Francisco ownership is rumored to be displeased with Ben Haas's increasing salary demands. supermanager1 has been celebrating the team's largest profit in many years.
The team has recently made a few cuts and signings. Denny Macaluso, one of the three players released today, issued a statement complaining that the team "wanted to ruin itself by cutting decent old players to make room for terrible young guys who were wastes of draft picks." The GM, in response, said: "Denny, we were considering sending you to the team's Hall of Fame. Forget that plan now!"
To close out this press release, the Giants congratulate Vladyslav Klymenko for being selected to the national team of Ukraine, Oladele Olatunji to the national team of Nigeria, and David Hazan to the national team of Israel.
Mar 02 2033: South San Francisco Giants News: Manager Fired
- by supermanager1 on July 28th, 2017
In a shocking move, today the South San Francisco Giants fired manager Lance Robbins after the hiring of Ben Haas. GM and Owner Super Manager stated this in a media conference:"We all loved Lance. He was a great character in our clubhouse. But we needed wins. And 'cause I like him so much, I gave him an extra year to develop our players. I think we all know that our win totals are nothing to brag about. I understand that I am sorry for Lance, but this is business. I wish Lance the best in the rest of his life." Of course, Super Manager added:"I want you all to know that Ben's contract is a one-year contract. We told both Ben and Lance that if Ben doesn't do well this year, Lance will get the manager role."
In other news, Javier Torres was Rookie of the Year last year in our league. At 29 years old, he was a pretty old rookie. The South San Francisco Giants also would like to congratulate prospect Vladyslav Klymenko for making the Ukrainian national team. To close out this press release, we have upgraded our stadium by 1000 seats.
May 14 2032: Roster Moves
- by supermanager1 on June 4th, 2017
Although he's 35 years old, team management has just confirmed that Doug Hoover will be the team's starting catcher for the next few years by releasing 34 year old catcher Howard Owen.
GM Super Manager stated the three reasons for releasing Howard Owen: "Well, first, he's quite old. By releasing him, we can clear up active roster place for Nicaraguan 26 year old Martín Martínez, who has been progressing well lately. We want to get Martínez on the roster. Next, [Owen]'s not getting much playing time. Thirdly and last, his $1.15M salary can be replaced with a $0.5M hit."
Martínez has been called up.
Jan 19 2031: Roster Moves

The South San Francisco Giants have drafted 21-year-old LHP Bryce Frey out of the University of Iowa with our first round pick in the 2031 draft. He is currently the #2 prospect in our farm and will start the season in Double AA. Our Manager, Lance "The Professor" Robbins said:"Our team is very old, getting a top young prospect in Bryce Frey who has great potential is a must for our team." In order to free up some roster space, we had to release 41-year-old LHP Mario Gomez. Gomez provided decent relief pitching in 13 years with the club. The Professor said of Gomez, now retired:"He was top-notch when he was young, and we are sad to let him go. He has gotten old and his ERA spiked, and with the addition of Bryce, we had no other choice. I wish him the best. I liked Gomez's attitude and friendliness, but he didn't put up good numbers since last year he had an ERA of 11 point something as well as opponents batting .398 against him. In his 17 years, he pitched for 10 teams." Then, the Bothell Wolves relocated to South San Francisco Giants. GM Super Manager said:"The fan base in Bothell was slightly lacking something. And although I liked Bothell, a move to San Francisco benefited us the most. I look forward to winning championships in South SF." We then released Andre Wilkerson, a 41-year-old OF who has just retired. GM Super Manager and Manager Lance Robbins have not commented on this yet. We then signed free agents Jesse Newman, Doug Hoover, and Martin Martinez. We also made many waiver claims. To make room for these free agents on our Major League roster, we temporarily assigned 44-year-old RHP Edgar Horton and 38-year-old OF John De Angelis to the Minors. Both are old, aging players whose production have declined. We are expected to either cut them or call them up when final roster cuts are due. We will most likely release them unless we cannot find free agents to replace their services. Ed and John both reportedly argued with Lance and the GM before being demoted to Single A. No one, except Ed and John have commented on this. They called GM Super Manager "baloney" and The Professor "the worst Manager on Earth". In addition, Juan Barrera has been inducted into the team Hall of Fame. Thank you for reading this South San Francisco Giants announcement.
Jan 15 2031: New Manager Talks; Roster Moves
- by supermanager1 on February 19th, 2017
Rumors have it that we are close to firing Manager Lance "The Professor" Robbins. Please don't believe this. We will give Lance "The Professor" Robbins at least one season to develop with our old squad. We just bought this team yesterday, so there's no way we'll make major changes immediately. However, we have drafted Bryce Frey from the University of Iowa. He is a solid young prospect who is playing in Double AA. We are also close to acquiring some young talents off waivers. Our squad is quite old and we are close to releasing 41-year old pitcher Mario Gomez. He is to old for us, and although he brought us good, we will have to release him. We wish him the best.
