Press Releases:

Oct 16 2046: New Bobcat Hit King - by Squiddcatt on August 22nd, 2020

Phil Becker comes into the game with 2075 hits 1 shy of of the all time Bobcats record.

Bottom 2nd runner on third 1 out
Swing and a fly ball drifting out to right near the pole and GONE, a 325 ft shot just over the right field wall and Becker has put the Cats up 4-2 and tied Lewis Frazier for the most hits in club history at 2076.

Bottom 8th runner on first 1 out
Swing and a ground ball third base side and into left field. Becker has done it becoming the all time Bobcat hit King! More importantly he represents the winning run in this 8-7 game.

Unfortunately the Bobcats went on to lose the game 8-7 and are 3 games out of first with 7 to go. The cats who have a 4 game series with the current division leaders Deadwood tomorrow are starting to look like their playoff chances are over. Becker who announced retirement after this season has just a few games left to add to his total as the all time Bobcat hit King.

Jun 08 2046: 2000 For Phil Becker - by Squiddcatt on July 19th, 2020

Top 7
2 outs

Becker ground ball third base side through the 6 hole BECKER HAS DONE IT! Phil Beckers single to left was his 2000th just the third Bobcats player to do so. Despite batting just .237 for his career and .190 last season Becker is batting .305 this season through 154 at bats. Amazing for a 36 year old and life long poor hitter. Despite never having the best average and just 2 all star apperances Becker is playing in his 16 professional season. Becker who with 2000 hits is just 76 behide Lewis Frazier for first in Bobcats history and 66 behide Havey Burt. President Squiddcatt who has kept Becker around these past seasons hoping for this achievement despite his poor play now will keep him. Both Frazier and Burt played through their 37 year old season and if Becker is to do the same he should surely pass them to become the all time Bobcat hit KING. 35 year old Bobcat Ethan Greer is a canidate to be the next 2000 hit man with 1715 and a higher rate per season than Becker. Becker also took nearly 1000 more at bats than Frazier and Over 1000 more at bats the Burt, meaning him being around since his age 21 season has greatly helped him.
