Have kind of promised myself that when I retire (which isn't for a spell yet) I'll take in spring training. Spring training not as interesting this season as last for the Blue Jays. Very little competition for jobs. The 5th starter is TBD. There is 1 maybe 2 spots in the bullpen up for grabs. And there is a 4th outfielder gig. But that's about it. So long as guys don't trip over sprinkler heads or wreck themselves on fielding drills, it's not like to be very eventful. |

Sanchez, I think, has a fairly high ceiling. I want him to start sometime, and think the longer he stays in the pen, the harder that is going to be. If it was me, I probably wouldn't even let spring training decide. I'd give the job to Hutch, and put Sanchez in AAA to get good and stretched out. If Hutch struggles or someone gets hurt, Sanchez is ready. |
