Just read this article: Framing and Blocking Pitches: A Regressed, Probabilistic Model
A New Method for Measuring Catcher Defense

Never realized that measuring a catcher's framing ability had become so complicated. Interesting...I'm not sure if I believe framing accounts for this many runs though.

Not sure I believe its is impactful as they are claiming either. It would be cool to see blocking data for our pitchers.

EDIT: That should be for catchers not pitchers.

I don't know about that. It's one of the stats they define in the article you linked. Its related to PB, but it takes the pitcher out of the equation, so you can get a little better apples to apples comparison of catchers.

8 PB out of 200 bad pitches is better than 6 PB out of 100 bad pitches after all.
