The idea is add "Condition" (expressed as a percentage) to the ballpark page: The ballpark would then be set to deteriorate by a set amount (say 5% ) over the course of a season. If left in this deteriorated condition, the club's rating and fan mood would take a small hit. In the offseason a new button would be added to the "Modify ballpark" page which would be labelled "Renovate Ballpark". If an owner chooses to renovate their ballpark in the offseason, for a fee equivalent to what the franchise fee would have been for that team's league level, then the hit to fan mood and rating would return it to it's former, pristine state. If, on the other hand, an owner chooses to neglect to maintain their ballpark, these hits would accumulate each offseason and become a major drag on both mood and rating. This strikes me as a more organic way to achieve the same effect that the franchise fees would, while adding another real world feature to Broken Bat. Attendance should roughly reflect each team's income. If that's anywhere close to a 1-to-1, I would think there would be a way to automatically scale the costs of renovations to match each team's income. | ||
