Shouldn't affect when a pitcher enters the game, just when he exits.

Ok, just chance than. I just wanted to make sure I was using the correction option and the code was in place to support it ;)

I have a lefty as the Left Handed Setup Man (with the diamond mgmt setting) and he's still coming in. Want is the nature of your pitcher and mgmt setting?

You're not using a RHP as the LH specialist or LHP as the RH specialist -- are you?

Nope. He finally came in for a game. So he managed to get 1/3 inning this training period. I think it was just bad luck. I used to give him a 0 pitch count and he would get a couple innings in a training period.

Current settings are hook = 2, first inning = 5, RD on defaults.

This is the best improvement to the game since I joined in 2014. Great work. The more in-game, baseball related updates, the better. It creates a truer baseball experience and I love it.

@admin - how does the new option view switch hitters? I mean, will it bring in a LHS/RHS against a switch hitter?

No, they only come in if the scheduled hitter bats exclusively from the opposite side. Similarly, if you have the diamond setting for them, they will be taken out of the game when a switch hitter is coming up to bat.

I just set this up recently and I'm wondering if I have my LH specialists set up incorrectly. I have two of them set up basically the same way in case a team I'm facing has their batting order go L-R-L. I have them set up as LHS and LHS2. I have one set to come in no earlier than the 7th inning, the other the 8th. Had a situation in a game today where it was the bottom of the 8th, the opposition had L-R-L-L coming up and my RH middle reliever stayed in the entire inning. How exactly am I supposed to set this up? My MR was under his pitch count, is that the only reason my LHS did not come in the game? How exactly does the game decide when they come in? I guess I figured they would enter the game when a LH batter came to the plate, period. Now, I'm guessing it still uses pitch count, hook for current pitcher, etc. before bringing in the specialist. Can anyone clear this up for me?

What you surmised is correct. The hook and pitch count settings rule the other pitchers. Until they exceed those, no one will take their place. The only exception is the closer, if you have one.
