I don't know if this is reflected elsewhere but a drop from 1.97 to 0.47 steals per game feels significant. Is this reduction in attempted steals just normal statistical variance, a deliberate change in coding or possibly an unintended cause of some other change. Is it possible to determine whether there has been the impact on extra base attempts? I know there was a concern about the number of attempts in brokenbat so I have included stats from the current mlb season as a comparison. There were 844 MLB games at the point of sampling; 988 SB, 353 CS at a CS% of 36% and 1.59 steal attempts per game (Dee Gordon of the LA Dodgers leads with 34 from 37 in 54 games) |

I know there were complaints about making it more like modern MLB were base running, advancing runners and stealing bases take a back seat to home runs. 2018 - 1/6 2017 - 69/151 2016 - 129/223 |

Attempts just aren't down, they're almost non-existent, and that's kinda crippling to all us small ball clubs. | ||

I will look into whether additional adjustments need to be made. My goal is for the bot stealing rate & percentage to be similar to MLB. For managed teams, that should be up to the player management settings (so will vary). Steve |
