You're thinking the Third Basemen should have come home?

There's a scenario you don't see often. It's a tricky judgement call for the third baseman IRL. You can't really throw home if the runner doesn't take off right away because you don't have a force out at the plate, but as soon as you throw he's gonna bolt.

im guessing IRL the throw goes home from 2nd 9/10 times as the third baseman would have thrown to second, then the third base runner would have taken off for home, and the 2nd baseman would have thrown home to try to get the runner, especially in a one run game in the late innings, although in the early goings of a game you might be more likely to see the throw go to 1st as the team is willing to give up the one run and get the two outs, as opposed to getting one out and giving up a run and laving a man on base for the next batter to knock in

Or no throw, and let the hitter on, loading the bases for the next batter. That at least makes it a force out at the plate.

Given it's the bottom of the inning in extra innings the logic here would have to be either no throw, get the out at first after looking the runner at third back or throwing home if he took off. I don't really see any scenario at all where they go for the double play and let the run score since the game is over when that run scores.
