He's 24, going to have to go majors next year. He's listed as Rookie but had phenom potential. He's going to take quite some time to train up.

Should he be in the majors now to get 'experience'?
Should he stay in the minors to get 'skills'?
Is he worth keeping at all?

imo he is trash. 51 SI @ 24? and he's gonna be 25 soon, so then he'll have to get 50 SI pts by 4-5 seasons. 30 is where he is hard 'capped' and then at 32 skills will drop.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but at the rate he's going he will HAVE to have 10-12 SI pts earned in training a season in order to become decent. and by that time it may be too late/he will deteriorate. Now, he can go to Long Reliever 2 and just stick there. But I don't know if he'll get Playing time to get exp. He will have to play a KEY position (Starter 1,2,3,4, or 5, Spot Starter, ___-Handeded Setup Man, Setup Man, or closer) To be able to earn exp. It's up to you if you want him to be losing you games or pray to God that he will jump 40-50 SI pts in 4 years time.

I agree with msigg here because the player is worth nothing and he is in High A and that is a big jump.

id probabley cut him myself, but i will say that when i first started i had a bunch of guys in the low 70s around 25, specifically

andhttp://brokenbat.org/player/45145

however i do have one case in
http://brokenbat.org/player/53333
i signed mel as a 25 year old at 61 SI, he has platooned for both seasons ive had him, and has improved steadily, while actually making the leap from 61 to 86 last season and 86 - 100 this season . other than him i havent seen many guys jump more than 20 si a season.

Oh, also, FYI I don't think 30 is the hard cap for training. http://brokenbat.org/player/38631 has been getting skill ups all year and he's 31.

I think he has potential, but you may have to suffer for a long time before he reaches it.

just for clarification, i have had some low si guys with high potential improve drastically over the course of 1 or two season, but i also took hom last place in the game for 2 seasons while my young guys developed, this season they are making great strides and i find myself sitting atop the division:D

Thanks again. I released him as I was looking to make space anyways for this weeks draft. I don't think I have the time to have someone that poor on the roster for a handful of years before he's even serviceable.
