Is it just the effect of my team name? Or has the definition of "Very Good Hitter" changed? I doubt either of my catcher "prospects" will get higher than 12 or 13 Hitting...

Isnt that particular thing sometimes indicative of a player raising their POT through development? I said the same thing about

And yes, he probably still wont make his comment. But he may get closer haha

Well, Sterling has had very strong growth in Hitting. So he'll get a lot better. My two catchers have already had their POTs refined. I don't see a huge amount of growth left for either of them, and both of their Hitting curves have been rather unimpressive. Barnard is a bit younger and his rate has been a bit better but he is only at 10 right now... So I would be very surprised to see them get past 12 or 13 Hitting.

Sterling (22 years old) - Hitting 11 - growth rate 1.2
Barnard (24 years old) - Hitting 10 - growth rate 1.0
Cobb (26 years old) - Hitting 11 - growth rate 0.7

I suppose the same thing can be said for guys like Gutierrez whose "exceptional" movement capped at 14. But his performance seems to indicate is an under-evaluation from the managers. I'm not sure if these catchers are under-evaluated, over-scouted, or if the Steve has tweaked the ranges a bit over the years. Could be all three.

Seems like I am good at finding guys who don't reach expectations... But that is why I named the team the Halflings after all.
