| Of all my teams, only Ireland lived to see another day. Bähr got a 3-inning save in his only appearance, De Smet got rocked (poor dude, starting at 36), and Luque turned in a very good World Classic as he continues to show me that he might not be that bad of a player. O’Reilly is the last man standing among all of our guys. | ||

| Ireland vs. Great Britain was a cool 1st round match up. We had a WC game pitched entirely by III.1 pitchers! Middletown's Cleary and Waterloo's Herrera both went the distance. Herrera is the last Dino standing, as Panama and Armenta bowed out in the first round. Armenta played well for a change - 5/17 with all hits going for extra bases (2 HRs, 3 2Bs). |

| It went as I expected. I must say I'm really surprised by Venezuela. I have there two guys in the rotation and I would not guess they sent USA home. |

| Would guess this is the farthest Curaçao has gone in the tournament? Their roster isn't very fearsome. Cintrón and Zepeda still flying the III.1 flag for Colombia. In the heat of the summer I forget Herrera is teammates with those guys in the off-season.  |
