How did Le Dang ( 148 G, 0 DP, 7 OA, 4 E, .992 FLD) and Tory Harmon ( 100 G, 2 DP, 3 OA, 10 E, .972 FLD) both win Gold Gloves for OF when Buck Ikeda ( 159 G, 4 DP, 17 OA, 2 E, .995 FLD) clearly blows them away for defensive performance?

There is something seriously wrong with GG selection.

In VI.18, the same team won all the OF gold gloves:

Singer: 159G, 2 DP, 8 OA, 2E .994
Wahl: 151G, 3 DP, 10 OA, 1E .998
Solheim: 159G, 0 DP, 8 OA, 3E .993

The first two seem solid, but comparing Shockley to Solheim: 118G, 3 DP, 9 OA, 1E .997...maybe the 118G makes a difference, but being better in every category and having a better FP over less chances should mean more, right?

How ...

It picks a LF, a CF, and a RF. Ikeda wasn't competing against Le Dang and Harmon. He was up against Larsen.

That's how it works IRL too. If you manage to play 100 games in LF (a heavily platooned position) you are often a gold glove finalist irregardless of your defensive play. (Eg. Gurriel for the Jays last season).

Well if Shockley was up against Wahl, Wahl was better this year.
