Gunnar Joined: 01/05/2020 Posts: 170 Inactive | So how important is the win/loss stat for spring training? I am trying to judge my future guys but some stats are good some are not but having a W/L of 1/10 makes me wonder how correct they are. Any opinions would be helpful. |

AssumedPseudonym Joined: 10/26/2016 Posts: 1130 Deerfield Beach Rats V.7 | Win/loss record is absolutely pointless in Spring Training, both because it doesn’t count toward rating or fan mood and because everyone is running players from wildly varying stages of development. If you’re sending a 26-year-old pitcher out who’s only a few points from his development cap out to play against a lineup full of A-ball guys, you’re going to get an entirely different result than if you sent an A-ball pitcher out against a lineup full of 26-year-olds only a few points from their development cap. |
