Baird is still a really strong pitcher at 34 years old. I was going to use him as my LHS, until a cheaper younger option came along.

http://brokenbat.org/player/139405 Only 30 years old, has held opponents to under .200 BA..or ya, only a 12 pot. Over 350 saves and still not qualified for the hall of fame!

Yep. I would have kept him and Gonzalez from last season's title-winning team if not for the fact that I (1) had two prospects overdue for promotion, and (2) had team salary rise by $10M. I'm not going bankrupt any time soon but cutting Baird and Gonzalez took nearly all of that $10M ($9.8M) off the books and let the young guys (and their growing pains) in.

On the bottom end of the spectrum..

In 2035 I had 11 pot Kuhn get 25 saves.
That is the record high for any player I have ever had.
Not very impressive. Might even be a BB record for futility.

It's been closer by committee in Cleveland the last couple seasons. Despite that, we always seem to eventually end up going back to Peterson. Which would explain why he's 4th on the all-time saves list. If my current closer gets whacked at the flip, he'll probably be doing it again. Unless he, too gets whacked.

My closer had a late start, his first season closing was age 27 but he ended up logging 410 saves in his career.
