I'm wondering where it's best to focus my efforts. Am I more likely to win with a team that is an offensive powerhouse or is it better to focus on building a great pitching staff. I'm starting to lean toward the idea that a great pitching staff combined with even a middle of the road offense is more likely to win a championship than the reverse. Just curious to hear what others think about this.

Money isn't usually a huge deterent. Just so long as you don't have too big a ball park, or too many high priced veterans.

I suggest you get both the best batter and pitchers you can. The real trade-off happens with the hitters. Do you value power, speed, contact, defense? No reason not to pick up great pitchers to compliment whatever offensive strategy you have.

I agree with Rock. This isn't the real world. You don't get to choose your team by spending money. Here you get what you get. All you can do is make the most of what you're dealt.
