Got my hopes up when I saw...

He can be a very good hitter. He can develop into an above average slugger. He has above average overall potential.

...not a bad scouting report for round 7.

11 pot squashed that. C&R

Out of a predictably bad crew of prospects I went with the scouting report "none" as they sometimes can pan out.

Not this time lol.

Anyone making a team of 8 pot guys?

Could do worse for a Round 7 pick. Keeping him for the short term to gets some reps at catcher. I don't really need another catcher prospect but ...

Not the worst player out there, but could be better. Maybe he could be a depth OF or 2B.

@lostraven

Did someone say catcher prospect?

WHAT'S THAT OVER THERE?

steals your player

My how things have changed.

Who would have thought I'd be pleased to draft a low SI 12 pot pitcher whose scouting report consists only of good potential?

But I am pleased. Especially in round 7. Its been awhile since I drafted anyone of star potential. Nowadays I'm just happy with potentially useful.

In 17 picks made since joining the site, I've seen just one "very good" potential player, and even he wasn't super great.

Hit on a 13 POT that has some potential, but before you get jealous, note that this is only my second keeper this year for a LLVI team in full rebuild. (The other was a 14 POT in Rd 3). My other five picks consisted of 3 12 POT's and 2 11 POT's.

@shoeless

No hitting comment, so I wouldn't get too excited about him, but that SI at his age is insane, he'll be in the majors by 20 years old most likely!
