So I managed to get my young rookie a couple of at bats in game 2. He's obviously way out his depth and struck out in both. My question is will he improve faster playing at this level or am I hurting his development.

If it is recommended that he stay at a lower level, then he will train and improve faster at that level.

If you continue to play him in the big leagues, then he will gain more big league experience and improve because of that. But the training aspect of his development may never max out.
